War is the time proven cure for economic depression.

I don’t like posting this, but we need to wage war on China.

Revenge has always worked as a rallying cry:

Remember the Alamo!
Remember the Maine!
Remember Pearl Harbor!
Remember the CCP Flu!

I got an issue with those types of numbers at that time. We are very resilient and this economy is based on a higher technology infrastructure which can get moving quite fast again. Had we been hit with something like anthrax I would be inclined to agree with you. Covid-19 is not even remotely as dangerous and it can be rather easily be decontaminated by commonly available agents.

Honestly, I don’t know how much more I can take of some of the defeatist sentiments expressed on these threads.

I’m no cockeyed optimist. But I refuse to accept that our future holds nothing but the prospect of servitude to a Leviathan state.

I want to believe that..., but we haven't decontaminated it yet, entirely. And people's (read: voters') perception isn't really based on any "higher technology."

This isn't about the severity of the virus...it's about the severity of the damage done to the economy by the lockdown. Not just our economy...the economy of the entire industrialized world.

We have been decontaminated on the physical surroundings much more than you think. I have seen the efforts and evidence of the infrastructure being used. Decon for this pathogen is not some super serious high tech thing. Isopropyl alcohol wipe-down or atomized will do the trick.

The problem now is with those infected who need to be quarantined and treated. If what you say was true the hospitals would be filled to overflowing and they are not

+100!!

“I’m no cockeyed optimist. But I refuse to accept that our future holds nothing but the prospect of servitude to a Leviathan state.”

Defeatism comes from one of two sources. Those who are not problem solvers and trolls!

The economy runs on the means of production (I do have a masters in economics in addition to my technical degrees). I work on very large expensive programs and understand how technology readiness, manufacturing readiness and all these factors come into play. We have a very modern infrastructure which is the engine on which it runs and I don’t see this as you do because of it. We are running things in a militarized mindset now and that means you get right back into the fight. The DPA can be used and we can move mountains with that.

Well, Trump is definitely a problem solver, even though he took a lot of bad advice during this made-up “crisis.”

Still, I have a feeling that the Trump Curse is going to hit Dr. Fauxi and others.

We will indeed. But I will not forgive anyone that will sit the election out, or vote for a demon rat be it Biden or whoever , or some third party candidate.

I recently read about that. We were stationed at Fort Riley from 1972 to 1977

IQ of 2 for him is too generous. I’m thinking more like 0.2!

Perhaps your memory is better than mine, but—

— was it some other person named Donald Trump who led chants of “Lock her up?”

When we see even ONE Deep State Thug, such as James Clapper or James Comey being arraigned on felony charges for, oh... ANYTHING ...

— then I might take pleasant fantasies such as Rep. Nancy Pelosi or Sen. Charles Schumer or Sec. Hillary Clinton being locked up to be even a faint possibility.

Until then that’s all they are: childish time-sink fantasies.
