I want to believe that..., but we haven't decontaminated it yet, entirely. And people's (read: voters') perception isn't really based on any "higher technology."
We have been decontaminated on the physical surroundings much more than you think. I have seen the efforts and evidence of the infrastructure being used. Decon for this pathogen is not some super serious high tech thing. Isopropyl alcohol wipe-down or atomized will do the trick.
The problem now is with those infected who need to be quarantined and treated. If what you say was true the hospitals would be filled to overflowing and they are not
