New Drone Footage Shows Damage From Trump’s Wall in Remote Arizona Wildlands
Center for Biological Diversity ^ | April 28, 2020 | Laiken Jordahl

Posted on 04/30/2020 3:53:58 PM PDT by BeauBo

New drone footage shows border-wall construction blasting through a wildlife refuge and mountain range in one of the most remote regions of the United States...

The wall is being built through the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, home to the endangered Sonoran pronghorn, and the rugged Tinajas Altas Mountains in the Barry M. Goldwater Bombing Range east of Yuma, Arizona...

The construction has forever altered the centuries-old Camino del Diablo, or Devil’s Highway. The ancient trade route, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was traveled by Native Americans, explorers, miners and missionaries like Father Eusebio Kino. Once a forbidding, high-clearance trail, the Camino has been bulldozed and bladed by construction crews into a major thoroughfare...

Wall construction has accelerated across the borderlands despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Hundreds of miles of new construction have been announced in recent months...

Wall construction is ongoing in the neighboring Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and across Arizona.

See, I’d forgotten that show myself

Loved so many characters

It couldn’t be made now

There are, however, people like them in lots of places

“This will be a challenge to build thru these mountains”

It is about the roughest stretch that I have seen them start building yet.

I believe the contract has been awarded to extend the San Diego barrier further West (there was some challenge to using Military funds), through the steep parts there, but I don’t think it has started yet.

Building heavy infrastructure on steep mountains is a whole new era in border security.

I expect that some of the recent awards with high cost per mile in California and Arizona are biting off some of the really tough engineering challenges, that were always deferred before.

I’d like to see them complete Mount Cristo Rey, just West of El Paso, but that flank of the San Diego barrier is a high value addition as well.

May 7th and 15th are target dates for some new contract awards, as revealed in a Court case challenging them, but I’m hoping to see a bunch more awards in May. The money has been transferred for a few months, and that is long enough to start seeing some real action, if there is no big hold up (like a legal injunction).

Non of the swine bitching about this would last a single day in July out there. Hardly anyone would. This is WASTELAND, and only scumbags would GAF because they hate our country.

Only ones “hurt” by the wall are the Coyotes.

Nice work. Now maybe American citizens can once again enjoy the area without fear for their lives from criminals.

It was written, “The construction has forever altered the centuries-old Camino del Diablo, or Devil’s Highway.” Actually, the Lukeville-Yuma primitive border road, which long ago one could enter just south of the Organ Pipe monument, has not been open for twenty years.

Oh No! Not the rocky barren hills!

It's not like there is literally a million square miles of that sort of landscape in the Southwest.

It’s not Trump’s Wall, it is Our Wall.

If not for Trump, there would be no barriers, walls etc. We got nothing but lip service from the past 5 presidents, who did nothing but aid and abet the epic invasion, while looting the U.S. taxpayers to fund their globalist agendas. All while many so called conservatives kept reelecting these posers.

Hi! I see that you are a newbee FRiend. I understand
and concur w/your post. However, I think you didn’t
quite catch the fact that you responded to
my post #101 which does not relate so much w/my
sarcastic jab at the author of the article. Looks to
me like you meant to respond to post #1 which is on
the previous posting page, at least in the 100 post
per page option I chose within my FR account Why
would I bother to tell you this? Because, at some
point you may find yourself in a serious to and fro,
back and forth with another FReeper and you will
want to make sure you use the accurate post # so
your target poster gets your message and you don’t
piss-off an unintended target.

On another note your moniker may attract some
attention that you may get tired of seeing.
Although I despise the political situation in
my home state which is California, I find myself
defending Cali from those haters who have never
been here but make statements to the effect that
there are absolutely no conservatives in this
state. That, I take as an insult. FR is based in
California, there are more Cali FReepers than from
any other state, and in 2016 other than Texas and
Florida it was California which produced the most
popular votes for Trump. Over the years I have grown
weary of all the fellow FReepers who claim we Cali
conservatives don’t exist at all. And, if you have
not heard it already then any number of folks will
almost demand that you move away IMMEDIATELY, if
not sooner....so tiring.

With that.....welcome to FReeper Nation, still the
best place 2B!

We have a lot of swamps here in Louisiana. They’re doing just fine; happy swamp creatures abound!
