A defiant Texas salon owner says shed rather go to jail than close her chop shop in compliance with local stay-at-home orders, according to reports.
Shelley Luther has become a figurehead for the Open Texas movement by keeping Salon À la Mode in Dallas open despite a $1,000 citation as well as a cease-and-desist legal order from local officials.
The City of Dallas has accused her in legal papers of chancing irreparable injury to locals with the substantial risk of continuing the spread of the deadly COVID-19.

They will never be able to make that stick.
Maroons.
Democrat maroons.
Unless they force march customers into her salon I don’t see any irreparable harm to the public.
Letting convicted murders and habitual sex offenders out to make room for uncooperative citizens.
I really don’t think Texas is the best place to try what they’re trying. Despite sissified enclaves like Austin, Texans in general are not the best people to mess with.
This will be interesting.
This is slow civil war, and it’s the government against the people.
Throw the bit@h in jail...
When they say “non-essential” they mean you are non-essential to THEM.
If you are essential to YOU, that’s your problem.
You’re next.
You’re just not bright enough to figure it out.
Youre next.
Youre just not bright enough to figure it out.
Then comes you and after that comes me.
FIGHT BACK AMERICA!
I had to read twice to see if it said salon or saloon. I could use both right about now.
Your tag line says you resist every form of tyranny... LOL
I hope — and expect — Ms. Luther’s salon will have a banner year throughout the rest of 2020 and into next year! Very best wishes to this wonderful lady!!
Wow. Unless you forgot the sarc tag, thats quite the statment given the tag line you cart around...
"I Have Sworn Upon the Altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny..."
Unless that form of tyranny is picking and choosing what businesses stay open and what businesses go under - all at the point of a gun. I guess that tyranny is ok.
Best Buy
WalMart
Lowe's
Home Depot
liquor stores
tobacco shops
car dealerships (sales and service depts)
Galleria Dallas and NorthPark malls are enabling merchandise to go
Staples
Fry's electronics
Micro Center Computers & Electronics
Altex Computers & Electronics
All of those are considered "essential" - and that's just what I found in 5 minutes of Internet searching....
All of those places can hold more customers and higher foot traffic than a salon.
Yet the gubermint decided she wasn't essential enough and should go bankrupt.....but as long as people can get their essential video games, liquor, and a new car - all is well.
If you'e scared of going into public because of china flu, then stay home, but don't dictate others to bankruptcy.
Dallas has been overwhelmed by a Ratsunami of sheer stupidity. Damn shame. it was a nice place to grow up in Casa Linda White Rock area.
But the dog groomer who turned her in is considered to be essential.
