HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) Protesters rallied again Monday, asking for Governor Ned Lamont to consider reopening the state.
We appreciate his thinking of taking care of us all, but people are suffering right now and theyre not suffering with COVID, said Marnee Palladino.
One of the biggest complaints is they dont understand why the big box stores can be open while mom and pop shops remain closed.
They believe if Lamont does the right thing by reopening the state, people will do the right thing.
Its unfair that big box stores like Walmart are able to be open while smaller businesses are not, a Manchester resident told News 8.

Protesters like Rick said they support the message but feel people can handle themselves if the state were to reopen.
People are going to be safe and do the right thing, he said. I am an immunocompromised veteran. I am doing the right thing, covering myself up with a face mask while Im out here.

Unless more of the “car protests” take place then Gov. Ned will have no choice but to keep it to May 20th.
forget all the stereotypes about the south, things are so much better here.
I wish I was from here and was raised here.
People are so nice, it is way cheaper and people EXPECT you to try and succeed.
Been 10 years now and there is no way I want to go back.
Also Gov. Ned is mindful of one “Gov. Mario” next door in NY.
And did NC have any re-opening protests also or not?
I agree about supermarkets in CT...we have big chains (Big Y, Price Chopper, Stop and Shop) but we have small food chains, too (IGA, Shop-Rite, Greissler)
I believe Connecticut’s citizens are starting to rebel. The tolls and this? Maybe, just maybe, Nutmeggers will wake up.
Not a chance in hell. Lifetime CT resident. Was getting ready to move when pandemic started.
The unions own this state, and dont give a rats @ss about any of us. Were just hosts for the parasites.
Get out while you can.
NC did, we had a drive by protest in Columbia SC last weekend, but McTaxter just renewed the emergency another 2 weeks while GA just opened up!
Nope, that will NEVER happen. A handful of us here in The People's Soviet Socialist Republik of Connecticut have woken up already, but there is NO hope. As ModernDayCato said, there is only one answer: Get Out While You Can.
In one of the areas we looked at (Bluffton, SC), I did manage to find a bit more variety.
Fantastic post, FRiend! You sound happy :-)
Can't believe you've been out of CT 10 years now! You were incredibly SMART to get the hell out of here. 10 years ago is when we should have left (the day after Malloy was fraudulently "elected" would've been good).
We've been looking at potential places to move to in coastal SC, GA and FL for the past several years. We WILL move one of these days. I fear by the time we get our house on the market, though, there will be a glut of other houses for sale in CT. I'm sure the value of our property has plummeted significantly since the start of this COVID crap.
You are so right about people from the South, and how nice they are. What a difference from up here, huh??
Maybe you are right. I just hope someone will get Connecticut to wake up...
Publix is a great store, however, it is expensive. Winn-Dixie is great, too, but they are financially weak. Florida has a few Hispanic Supermarkets, but Publix and W-D are the mainstream supermarkets.
17 years since I moved from Connecticut. Move here to help my parents and I asked my employer if I can transfer. Met Mrs Deplorable here.
Please let me know when this will be held.
I definitely want to be there if I can
The Town Hall at Lincoln Memorial took place on May 4th...sorry you missed it!
