The Trump administration has acted to ensure that no funds from the new Paycheck Protection Program, set up to assist small businesses battered by COVID-19, will go to Planned Parenthood.
President Trump is committed to ensuring Paycheck Protection Program money is used for saving jobs at small businesses, not getting the government into the business of funding abortion, a senior administration official told The Daily Signal.
While not all Americans share President Trumps pro-life beliefs, there is broad bipartisan support for the idea that American taxpayers should not have to fund abortion, the official said Wednesday night.

The Paycheck Protection Program, designed to shore up small businesses that had to close or otherwise were affected by the coronavirus pandemic, allows businesses with fewer than 500 employees to be forgiven for the principal of a government loan if they dont lay off their employees. The employers still have to pay the interest on the loans, overseen by the Small Business Administration.
The programs initial $350 billion fund, established in legislation passed March 30 by the House, was depleted April 16. The program received $320 billion in new funding in a bill passed Thursday by the House and signed into law Friday by Trump.
The senior administration official told The Daily Signal that the Small Business Administrations mission already excludes big enterprises such as Planned Parenthood, the nations largest abortion provider.
The SB in SBA is for small business, so SBA has regulations called affiliation rules to define when small employers might be so closely affiliated with a parent organization that they should be considered one large employer, the official said, adding:
While each Planned Parenthood affiliate has fewer than 500 employees, nationwide it has over 16,000 employees. So when applying PPPs affiliation rules neutrally, its clear that Planned Parenthood is one large employer and not eligible for PPP money.
The interim final rule made crystal clear that an organization with Planned Parenthoods corporate structure doesnt qualify.
So far, over 1.6 million businesses have received forgivable loans from the Paycheck Protection Program, with Trump saying that the SBA processed more loans in 14 days than it had in the previous 14 years.
AMEN & AMEN!
Show Down, at the “It’s-NOT-Okay-Corral”.
While I applaud the intent, I question the execution
The loans are actually administered and become the liability of a bank.
How will banks be prevented from lending to PP or a surrogate?
It’s illegal for us to protest our government in public square.
People we are NOT winning.
We failed the singe biggest test of our resolve.
But I see your point: some banks/lenders may try to go around any rules and try to get some money to PP. But then, aren't they 501c3? Shouldn't they be getting funds from donations? Is there an SBA rule on 501c3's?
Why should Planned Parenthood get money because of Covid19?
They are still killing babies like the slobs that they are.
Written into the program is that certain non-profits can apply even if they aren’t small businesses. I would guess that is the route that planned parenthood would try to use.
Makes sense, the fight against COVID-19 is indeed pro life, not pro death.
pp is undoubtedly shopping for a judge to reverse decision.
They shouldn’t get any funds.
BRILLIANT. What a great President.
God bless him and keep him strong in this battle for our country.
Thank you, President Trump!
It probably won’t stand up in court altogether. Equal protection and all that. But the thought is a good thought.
