The vessels are upgraded versions of a Jin-class sub and join the PLA fleet in time for the military wings 71st anniversary
The subs are the latest in a long list of hardware additions to the navy over the last year
Two new upgraded nuclear-powered strategic submarines have gone into service in China in time for the 71st anniversary of the navy, according to Chinese military sources.
The vessels are revamped versions of the Type 094, or Jin-class, nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines (SSBN) and will bolster the Peoples Liberation Army Navys underwater combat strength, two military sources told the South China Morning Post.

I wonder if they’re connected to that military satellite they sent up recently. Hopefully they’ll sink.
How much of the tech is ours?
Damn the coronapedoes, full speed ahead!
All of it....my guess is it was sold to them by some of our illustrious leaders!!!
can it submerge? the built aircraft carriers that couldn’t do flight ops, so it’s a valid question.
Probably all of it. I mean, heck, they can't even get handcuffs right, much less a nuclear reactor.
Wrong question.
Can it surface? That is the correct question.

They resemble the Soviet Delta III subs a lot so I would expect most of the tech came from there.
Not after an encounter with the USN.
A better question is how much of our tech components is theirs in terms of backdoors.
As much as Clinton/Obama could feed them...
This would be pronounced ‘nucreal’ subs.
Soviet/Russian engineering and Chinese assembly. What could go wrong?
I wonder if they will glow in the dark the way a couple of Russian subs did?
