Amid the president's mixed messages, some supporters go against health experts.
Outside groups tied to President Trumps re-election bid have ramped up recent efforts to promote back-to-work protests, pushing anti-lockdown messaging -- and even some conspiracy theories -- that would appear to contradict the Trump administrations own prescription for knocking down the novel coronavirus.
And amid the throes of the global coronavirus pandemic, some pro-Trump influencers with ties to the presidents re-election team, whove already joined forces with outside political action groups such as Turning Points USA and ViralPAC, are bombarding millions of social media followers with messaging that undermines health experts by claiming the impact of the virus is being exaggerated, and the efforts to keep people indoors are not necessary.
Former White House Chief Technology Officer under President Barack Obama, Jason Goldman, who has been sounding the alarm to Democrats regarding Trumps digital advantage over presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, called the web of pro-Trump influencers pushing protests against stay at home orders and conspiracy theories clearly part of the way [the Trump campaign] has weaponized disinformation in a coordinated way.
The pro-Trump influencers create a closed ecosystem of disinformation; one that is immune to fact-checking because its target audience is consistently getting the same message from multiple channels about, for example, Trump's response to the pandemic, Goldman told ABC News. But more importantly [the strategy] is to create a media environment in which nothing can be trusted. There are no expert sources, the media elites are lying to you, it's all a deep state conspiracy, etc.
"If there's no objective truth except what you can find by 'doing your own research' there is little left but tribal loyalty," he said.

The sad thing to me is how pathetic the media claims/excuses/and just plain lies are, and how the media still exists.
The one thing that would thrill me is that they get a very justified and deserved comeuppance.
And I’ll buy tickets to the public executions.
For the first time in my life, I have experienced hate. Yes, I let the hate flow through me. And now, I await results.

COVID-19 is the largest hoax in US History. Everybody better be at work at their jobs tomorrow morning or else. Fauci, get out of town ASAP!

I’ve noticed it often takes at least 2 (or more) to write tripe like this. Guess just one lefty can’t handle all the disinformation and Bravo Sierra you get in articles this deliberately hateful.
The U.S. media breathlessly reported every terrifying number, almost gleefully. Their ratings soared, of course, as they scared the hell out of every American, many of whom have stayed home for the last 40 days, emerging only to buy toilet paper, but even then clad in masks and tiptoeing in fear.
Well slowly people are starting to wise up, and the media must tamp it down.
I don’t hate people, but I hate actions. And there are plenty of actions going on lately that would have gotten a lot of leaders hanged a century or three ago.
“The one thing that would thrill me is that they get a very justified and deserved comeuppance.”
That’s the problem...no accountability. On the rare occasions there is the media at large blacks it out with complete silence.
I quit trusting anything the MSM had to say long, long before Trump ran for president and years before he said anything about it in the political arena. He is just appealing to opinions that already run deep, similar to the "mega-dittos" acknowledgements when Rush Limbaugh came on the scene years ago. The reaction was. "FINALLY! Someone is articulating what I have been thinking for a long time!" So it is with Trump discrediting the media. That opinion is shared by many.
yep.
The media term for people with a progressive agenda. I'm around medical professionals all the time due to health conditions. I have learned to spot the progressive ones on sight. That's before even talking to them. It's the way they dress, carry themselves and their general demeanor. Then they open their mouths. I'll ask them what they think of the shut down. They "feel" it is helping. Conservative doctors on the other hand, "think" it is not doing much good and the virus will run its course. Conservative health professionals I run into don't have a sense of fear about them other than for unintended consequences. (Which may well very be intended consequences from the left. That's how I see it, not necessarily the doctors.)
Certainly it is equal to say that the anti-Trump left is reflexively fascist in its approach to the virus.
To a generation that has not a clue about the proper role of the federal government in relation to the states, who sees ‘the government’ being nearly synonymous with ‘Washington D.C.’ and the statehouse being merely administrative region, this could look like abnegation of Presidential responsibility and dereliction of duty on the part of the fedgov.
It's not ‘mixed messaging’ or any kind of lack of clarity, it's Federalism and it's the way we're supposed to do things.
Time for collusion investigations (DNC), libel lawsuits (Fake News), and FCC to pull broadcasting licenses.
Would this be the same "experts" who predicted 2,000,000 deaths?
