Under our new rules, health care systems and hospitals can establish temporary hospital treatment sites to expand their capacity
As the United States wages war against COVID-19, some hospitals around the country are experiencing a tremendous strain on their capacity and many that havent already soon will.
Every day, hospitals and their staffs are providing life-saving care to those in the grips of this deadly disease. These heroes on the frontlines deserve every ounce of support we can muster.

The hospital in my county is completely empty... They lay off over thirty health-care workers... :(
More bullshit from the media; apparently Fox doesn’t watch its own shows. Last night, Tucker Carlson was talking about hospitals with entire floors closed, layoffs of doctors and nurses and the financial impact of prohibiting elective surgery.
NY got the boat, a central part triage and the javits center and they were all practically empty while the hospitals were overwhelmed. here is my question: if patients where put on the ship, javits and central park would the NYC healthcare system be able to bill the feds for 39000 each patient? Another reason why the death toll was so high, greed and murder. Reason why infected patients where transported to nursing faculties killing everyone within, if they went to the other fed set ups they would not be able to bill. Mark Levin is on it. WE NEED AN INVESTIGATION!
Hospitals without walls:
1. A very good but very extreeeeeeemely late move; should have been done back in January, February or March at the latest.
2. CMS should not demand that such moves by hospitals go through state bureaucrat approval, CMS approval should be enough.
In the article is this link:

It is about CVS expanding its offering of the Wuhan Virus personal swab tests at their facilities (drive thru). But left in place is a command (not a law) that anyone seeking such a swab test at CVS (or anywhere else) must meet a CDC eligibility standard or they can’t get a test.
Neither doctors nor bureaucrats should be able to stand in the way of consumers getting such tests. Trump should use executive emergency authority to expand production of the test kits so that they are ubiquitous - available on demand to any consumer asking for them - no doctor’s note, no CDC regulation, no bureaucratic rule.
You are right
Hypocrondriacs should be able to get tested every day ......on demand, for free
The point of this article is that these temporary hospital treatment sites can be established so that hospitals can continue to carry on other business as usual. This would eliminate the need for hospitals to become solely focused on a virus pandemic. Thus they would not have to lay off staff like they are having to do with all elective procedures being banned during this virus outbreak.
You have to realize that due to bureaucratic BS this was not possible back then, and testing was an even bigger clusterfiretruck. Not only were the reserves depleted of PPE and ventilators, but the whole system was a big POS created by Congressional and bureaucratic regulations which often contradicted each other.
I don’t think, at this time in regard to the Wuhan Virus the issue is about hypochondriacs.
Do most people go to the doctor when they get the flu? No. They treat alone at home with over the counter remedies as long as those remedies help. When what they can do on their own is not working then they see a doctor, or at least talk to one.
But the Wuhan Virus presents itself differently than the flu.
With the Wuhan Virus you may feel not so bad at first, and even think you are coping with it fine. Then if you are merely seeming to cope O.K. for a few weeks but the symptoms do not change as much as they persist, things can change very suddenly, extremely suddenly as your immune system erupts in a cytokine storm, throwing out all stops to try to kick out the virus. That immune mass reaction causes as many problems as the virus alone and it cannot be dealt adequately with without critical medical care.
But a very simple test, your blood oxygen level, can indicate you might have the Wuhan Virus, even before you feel any symptoms at all (because robbing your hemoglobin of oxygen is one of the things the Wuhan Virus does, from the start and thereafter).
My point is, why should I be required to even get a doctor’s O.K. to try to find out if what I am experiencing is an early sign of the Wuhan Virus. Why should doctors or bureaucrats have the power under law to stand between me and such a test.
Our bureaucrats and doctors have become mad with powers claimed to be “protecting” “us” when half the time all they are “protecting” is their own power over us.
The reason the death toll in NYC is so high is two-fold: Warren Wilhelm Jr and Andy Cuomo who behaved criminally irresponsibly.
Wilhelm in particular, ignored everyone who might have had a clue and as late as March was telling New York City residents to go on about their business, this is no worse than the flu, have dinner out; and the absolute worst horror, he kept public transportation running. The NYC subway system is more dangerous than the Wuhan lab at this point.
Wilhelm has actually out-killed the 9/11 terrorists.
Cuomo did basically the same things, just less of it.
No, mindless people hunting for a wedge to isolate the President and his fantastic task group is America’s real problem.
That applies to conservatives who act like the enemies in the press asking the President endless Gotcha questions. There is no difference.
Both such conservatives and pressitutes are alike
You bring up issues which to me are not, and were not directly relevant to the need for hospital capacity to easily expand as needed, without bureaucratic hurdles.
If your point is that everyone was dealing with other problems and had no time to think of freeing the hospitals from bureaucratic burdens that inhibit their ability to temporarily expand facilities in an emergency, then we have the wrong team in the administration. They should have thought of it, Trump should have realized it and fired some people, and implemented the regulatory relief much sooner.
I think we are now past the point where the main impact of that regulatory relief might have helped the past few months. The curve - the health care system burden - is already bending down.
My wife has only been a nurse for 35 years. I tried to tell everyone a month ago that this ‘overwhelmed hospitals’ crap is BS. Nurses and staff are laid off or have hours cut back all over the country. My brother works at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, they are laying off or cutting hours on 30k employees. It’s a disaster for the medical world.
This is as much as your reply deserves
MOST ARE EMPTY!!,
MOST ARE EMPTY!!,
The big problem with testing is that the traditional tests *cannot* be done in your doctors office or by just anybody who has a kit. It requires proper training. And the results *must* be analyzed in a specially equipped lab.
There has been a lot of willy nilly testing going on and the results should never have been counted. The test is notorious for throwing both false positives and negatives. Although when properly done, it is quite reliable.
I dont know if there is a newer, easier to use test kit floating around. I have only researched the traditional one with the swab waaaaayyyyyy up your nose. Anyone asymptomatic who would want that test is a head case.
At this point, I believe none of the numbers from WHO or CDC or any state, county, or local government. Theyre relying on reports from people who did the tests and analyses wrong.
There are a few people I deem credible. They all predict that the US mortality rate will ultimately shake out at under 1%.
Remember these are only temporary hospital expansions, that can be brought in when needed and then eliminated when the need no longer exists. The Federal regulations made it much too burdensome to be able to create temporary expansion facilities, which slowed the process considerably.
This is not for this current medical emergency, it is for any ones that occur in the future. In other words, he has made it easier for things to get done, and not get bogged down in bureaucratic BS, the next time one occurs. He fixed the system. Do you get it now?
This article is.... garbage.
Overcrowded Hospitals? They are so empty that they are cutting shifts and laying off staff! I know nurses that are now only working 1 day a week in Western Washington State. That’s almost as bad as airline personnel.
“You have to find out what the laws & regulations are and then seek legal counsel, as to how these can be dealt with.”
If you are the CMS you already knew what the laws and regulations said, and you already had on staff the legal counsel that could frame the temporary regulatory suspensions. All you lacked was to simply direct that it be done, many yesterdays ago, not today. Even if the doing took weeks, that was still many yesterdays ago when it should have and could have been done. It should have been an EARLY and big priority. It wasn’t, for some reason.
