Bible in a Year:
May the nations be glad and sing for joy.
When the alarm on Shelleys phone goes off every day at 3:16 in the afternoon, she takes a praise break. She thanks God and acknowledges His goodness. Although she communicates with God throughout the day, Shelley loves to take this break because it helps her celebrate her intimate relationship with Him.
Inspired by her joyful devotion, I decided to set a specific time each day to thank Christ for His sacrifice on the cross and to pray for those who have yet to be saved. I wonder what it would be like if all believers in Jesus stopped to praise Him in their own way and pray for others every day.
The image of a beautiful wave of worship rolling to the ends of the earth resounds in the words of Psalm 67. The psalmist pleads for Gods grace, proclaiming his desire to make His name great in all the nations (vv. 12). He sings, May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you (v. 3). He celebrates His sovereign rule and faithful guidance (v. 4). As a living testimony of Gods great love and abundant blessings, the psalmist leads Gods people into jubilant praise (vv. 56).
Gods continued faithfulness toward His beloved children inspires us to acknowledge Him. As we do, others can join us in trusting Him, revering Him, following Him, and acclaiming Him as Lord.
When can you take a few minutes today to praise God? What do you have to be thankful for?
God, You are worthy of all our praise!
A friend and I were headed to Poore Lake near the center.
We had a canoe on wheels and were huffing at the altitude when we were passed by a crew doing double time with heavy packs.
When we got back to the truck a day later, they came by. When asked if they’d like some beer the response was: No. It’s hard enough as is.
I would venture into the area when I hiked often at the Carson Iceburg Wilderness near Sonora pass, and find all kinds of little stuff they would lose. Once I found a couple of them training.
Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
My nephew did the mountain warfare training there about a decade ago. He had a woman in his platoon and she wouldn’t kill a goat, skin it and gut it for food. I think she finally did it after a rather strict ultimatum.
We just called it Bridgeport. It’s where Recon went for cold weather survival school. My Bn. 3rd Recon, went to mountain warfare school in South Korea. Can’t remember if it was close to Pohang or Incheon. I think we stayed at Camp Muchuk but it’s been a loooong time.

Oh man! Mountain warfare training was my favorite! Pickle Meadows! Only thing I didn’t like was going up 9494!
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
How was your Monday? Mine was wall to wall busy with payroll corrections.
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Welcome to the Canteen, sasquatch, and thanks for sharing your experience.
That place looks awesome.
My training never took me there.
I loved heights and climbing.
Do line battalions get that training?

Yep. And it is rather brutal. Forced marches don’t recognize high altitude limitations, you know lol.
Oh, and if doing the winter training, and on a march, don’t fall forward. The snow is deep, the pack is heavy. You will suffocate unless there’s others see you fall and get you out.
Hai Kathy! (((HUGS))) Well I spent all morning in class and an hour this afternoon in the box. All went quite well. Evening meal in the hotel restaurant with classmates. Fun!!
How are things your way?
Our weather has been gorgeous and warm for the most part.
Son comes over every few days to eat and hang out. Still mowing Robin's place and just in a nice, retirement posture.
