BTW, folks. I got a lot of heat from readers who called me a despicable liar for claiming that Covid-19’s mortality is no more serious than a deadly season of the flu.
I NEVER SAID THAT. If you disagree with the doctors who claim this ( see this article ), direct your arguments against them, NOT ME.
This is what FR is for — the free exchange of ideas.
The doctor missed the point if he though the lockdown was about reducing deaths.
The lockdown had one purpose - managing workflow at the hospitals. In that it worked - lots of empty hospital beds. But in the long run, lockdown won’t save lives or prevent anyone from getting the disease.

This thing is really making the rounds from a bunch of “re-distributor” publications and channels. It’s good that it is going viral. It needs to.
And the whole thing is worth your time. Grab a cup of coffee.
More importantly, the doctors point out that the side effects of keeping people locked up, the stress from financial issues, bankruptcies, and losing your home, may be more serious than the virus itself.
And that purpose has been fulfilled, the lockdown no longer has a reason for continuing.
Here’s the logic: Since COVID-19, the flu, and the common cold are all viruses, then taking anti-virus measures to stop VOID-19 would also reduce the flu and common cold, but they didn’t.
This means these silly and useless measures did not stop COVID-19 and the results we see we would have seen without the lockdowns.
“In that it worked”
What if COVID-19 wouldn’t have produced that overwhelming patient flow? What if you were just ringing the bell to keep the elephants away?

Systems are complex and uncontrollable.
Water cycle
Nitrogen cycle
Carbon cycle
circulatory system
respiratory system
digestive system
economic system.
weather
climate
etc
But the real problem is that the study of systems leads to the word GOD, and we can’t have that because we are god.
Well, since it was effective, one shouldn’t want a flood of cases overwhelming the hospitals in a couple of weeks. A tiered rollback makes sense so folks get sick in tranches. Hopefully there will be herd immunity (and widespread adoption of effective treatments instead of industry approved ineffective treatments) by the time the most vulnerable get exposed. That, of course in the civilized world, not like the New Yorkers deliberately planting contagious folks into nursing home to inflate the death toll).
What is known now -
-ventilators kill people
-turning folks on their stomach saves lives
-anti-malarials are highly effective for some folks
-blood clots in the lungs are a significant killer for folks that have the disease.
-Jim Bakker is still a scammer.
Epstein didn’t kill himself
These guys are gonna get kicked out of Cali if they keep talking like this
The virus went thru Florida in February and March....as the flu...

I got permanently banned from one of my favorite forums (allows the left and right to post freely - normally) for making the same claims and backing them up with solid links.
I was an active member there for 15 years.
People and organizations are getting exposed for their true colors in this.

One thing that concerns me is that these two doctors suggest that people’s immune systems are being compromised buy not exposing themselves to the world of germs daily, and that there will be a lot of all sorts of types of sickness when we come out of lockdown.
I’m ridiculously healthy. Two years ago my wife got the flu so bad it lasted over a month and she nearly died. I took care of her the whole time at home and never showed symptoms.
I’m also 66 and have been an avid nail biter ever since I stopped sucking my thumb in college. ;)
Based on what we’re learning, this just may have saved me a lot of illness over the years.
When I was at the returns counter in Costco last week, I told the girl, “do you want to see me risk my life right in front of you?” I then rubbed the plastic counter in front of me and rubbed my eye. :)
Dear CV19,
BRING IT.

It will happen gradually anyway.
People who have minimal contact with others as they work (lawn mowing services, etc) can get back to work immediately.
Then people who have moderate contact with people (auto mechanics, etc).
Office workers currently working from home, can continue to work from home for a while longer, especially if they are over 50 or have co-morbidities

There is NO WAY POSSIBLE that reducing the ability of this virus to spread did NOT reduce the number of deaths caused by it.
