Philosophically, one cannot be opposed to the shutdown and not hold Trump responsible for cajoling all the governors into it.
Especially as he continues to tell governors to keep it shut down.
That’s cognitive dissonance for many here. And they’ll say Trump didn’t shut anything down, it’s the governors who are responsible for it!
Open your eyes. Our POTUS was the first advocate for the policy.
What’s that got to do with ending it?
I think you were way ahead of him.
But I apologize if you were not one of the sky is falling cabal in January/February.
Welcome to a country run by people who are beholden to suburban Karens.
This is ultimately why its so important to starve these state governments completely. This sh!t will end when they have to lay off millions of government workers across the country.
“Trump’s fault”
BAH!
We have a federal system.
And a media that would blame every death on him- heck, the media’s hero is a Governor that sent covid patients to nursing homes!
Trump is not telling Governors to keep it shut down. Remember his Liberate tweets? Or emphasizing that it was up to each governor that it was up to them since each state is different? Even in the case of Kemp, he said it was up to him.
Following the advisors who are supposed to be experts. Now that he knows, the states are starting to open up. He spoke with them and leaned hard on them about it.
“and not hold Trump responsible for cajoling all the governors into it.”
He did nothing of the sort. He stopped immigration from China and offered all kinds of support to states. But the democrat governors started shutting things down on their own.
Trump left it in the Governors hands. He might not like the States reopening, but he isn’t responsible for what they do.
Government sucks. It’s lucky that it’s a needed evil because no government is societal hell. The problem is that government also creates hell and defeats its purpose.
“Especially as he continues to tell governors to keep it shut down.”
Dumping on Kemp was quite recent.
Previously, he encouraged it but didn’t demand it - repeatedly said it was up to the governors. I do think that it seems to be the dim governors, especially the women, who are really enjoying it though.
they would have literally lynched Trump for every death after they impeached him if he did not shut down, they are already priming the pump for 2nd wave deaths are on him. see this for why we can open up:
Dr Erickson and his partner who have done over 5,200 Covid test and was out front of this before any cases were detected in the U.S. -if you watch first 9-10 minute you get gist.

those of us with a background in data analytics have been saying for some time either the infection rate the basic reproduction Number (R0) is wrong or the fatality rate is wrong. Otherwise millions would be dead already. Remember the double a penny every day, well in 34 days it ends up being worth over $ 160 million and the (R0) factor has been stated at over 2x. So it turns out it is the fatality rate is much much lower. This wont compute for some people who are running with the emotion of the constant message but these are the facts on the ground. see video For a fact based study/analysis by MD Dan Erickson, who with his partner has done half of the test in Kern County
This is the 5th study that confirms this, much lower fatality rate 1) First Iceland that randomly tested people in the population then 2) Stanford study of Santa Cruz, 3) USC Study and even yesterday even 4) NY. Governor Andrew Cuomo Cumo said a preliminary survey of New York state residents found that nearly 14% of those tested had antibodies against the novel coronavirus, suggesting that some 2.7 million may already have been infected.
And even Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said of the USC study, “the study suggests that 0.1 percent to 0.2 percent of people infected by the virus will die, which would make COVID-19 only somewhat more deadly than the seasonal flu”. That finding is consistent with the results of an earlier antibody study in Santa Clara County. “The mortality rate now has dropped a lot,” Ferrer conceded.
Last week a caller to Rush asked if Trump is vulnerable to losing his base over his decision guidelines that countermand the Constitution and the citizens’ rights. It’s a good question. You don’t put law-abiding healthy Americans under house arrest.
States are opening, just not all the states.
