I remember back in the early days of AIDS, the original acronym used was GRID, which stood for Gay Related Immune Deficiency. Homosexual pressure groups caused the medical and scientific community to abandon the GRID acronym so that people would not associate AIDS with the gay community.

The point is, the gay community has always been very sensitive about anyone thinking about AIDS as a disease primarily afflicting homosexual men.

Before it became newsworthy, a Biologist friend of mine told me of a new disease that broke down the body’s defenses that has the medical community “scared ***tless.” He said its from the homosexuals and is traveling through their communities; it should reach the US soon and they don’t know how to fight it.
