I think all that is probably correct, but it would be nice if many doctors, not just Dr. Zelenko, were using zinc and reporting excellent results. The HCQ tests I am familiar with are in response to Dr. Raoult's studies, not Dr. Zelenko's, and Raoult got very good results without zinc. There are a few proposed trials of HCQ plus zinc on clinicaltrials.gov, but no completed trials.

I would love to see large scale tests involving HCQ+AZ+zinc, but they don't seem to be materializing.

I worry that the NY HCQ trials will turn out to have been done on hospitalized patients with advanced disease, and the results will be poor, and the MSM will ignore Dr. Raoult's impressive current results and will loudly declare victory over OrangeDrugBad.

I’d like to know the answer to that question also.

What does it do for rheumatology practice?

Families of patients who have died in states or hospitals where they were denied chloroquine should ask some hard questions. Maybe through their lawyers.

First the pandemic followed by the lawyers?

I told my wife yesterday that many of the nursing homes will go under for the sheer volume of lawsuits that are certain to be filed. This will probably happen to many hospitals and doctors as well.

It will be a feeding frenzy.

I have mixed feelings about the wave of lawsuits, but if a patient asked for the HCQ treatment and was not given it the urge will certainly be there to sue. It’s the American way.......

If I get the Wuhan, I will demand the HCQ+Zpak+Zinc treatment pronto. I am over 60 with a few checkmarks. I do not want to wait. Of course the powers that be would rather not prescribe it and let me get sick and then when on the deathbed maybe allow a couple of doses and say...”see..Trump pills don’t work...”

Sad

I have spoken to 2 folks treated with this drug, not that I am opposed. However my friend with Lupus stopped taking it for fear of Macular Degeneration... aka blindness. Then I stopped to think.... I had seven WWII uncles and Aunts. All of the Males ..4 served in WW II and my 2 of my Aunts died early from one unknown and one Hypertension. Every male served and had Macular before Lung Cancer, My surviving Aunt, who all served in the WACS died of Lung Cancer, was halfway towards Macular.
They were al card playing Smokers, however.
I am not quite sure, at this point, what to think.

Is there some evidence that natural quinine is a zinc ionophore?

I have a very frail cousin who is a year younger than me (I am 74) who was put on first chloroquine then switched to hydroxychloroquine after eight years, for her RA. She remained on the drug for eighteen years without going blind, taking 400mg once per day. Her physician took her off of the HCQ because he was convinced it would blind her, though he had no vision problems detected. He put her on methyltrexate!

CQ or HCQ has been used for malaria prophylaxis and treating malaria for more than sixty years. The side effect profile is mild and well known. The folks claiming it needs to be put through lengthy clinical trials to study the side effects are slow walking the 'cure' for a reason. Billy Gates has enough money to instigate 'reasons' But his agenda is tracking every human on the planet.

FYI - I’ve seen several comments here on FR that red wine is high in Zinc, which most french consume and that could be part of the success w Dr. Raoult?

HCQ, by itself, doesn’t do much. It seems its effectiveness comes from facilitating zinc penetration into cells.

Cinchona bark carries about 1-4% of the needed quinine medicine per weight ratio or more precisely mass ratio

Which means you need 25-100 times in mass the bark as the distilled medicine

I’d go for the medicine to be honest

Though once folks did boil down a tincture

If you ca figure that out

Could be. I wish he would comment on it. I’m sure he knows about Dr. Zelenko’s use of zinc.

“One question, even if it seems obvious, does HCQ do anything to prevent the antibodies/immunity from developing?

I know it works best given early and with Zinc and Z-Pak.”

I do not know; I have read that it “opens the cell door” so that the zinc can get in and work. There is more information, and it is possible the answer, or an answer, has been posted here on the site.

This appears to be quite common with inexpensive unpatented therapies. If one assumed that this is actually happening, and that this tactic is being actively used, then it may be possible to push back or do an end run and plan accordingly.

Myself, I believe that there is ongoing and will continue to be shortages and/or thefts of the HCQ, and am actively searching out alternatives. Suggest others do the same.

Invermectin, Hartgard dog worm medicine, wormwood, queceritine, tonic water(contains quinine), mega vitamin c and d therapy are a few that come to mind. I have been notified that Chaga mushrooms are a possibility. Note: spelling errors.

Not being a medical professional, I do not know.

However, the MD that wrote the article appears to be enthusiastic to have such a drug as HCQ in his medical toolbox.

The Life Extension Foundation had some articles on Macular Degeneration. Plus many on cancer. They also have a free call in service with MDs and Naturopaths for members.

www.lef.org

Note: The HCQ treatment by Dr. Zelenko is only 5 days long and 200mg/day. I know of two people who take HCQ for lupus and RA, but I only know the dosage for one person, which is 300mg, and this elderly relative is over 85. That is all I know.
