Kill off the Post Office and every person in America outside of the cities will have problems getting bills, checks, deliveries, and the rest.

I propose laying off half the workforce and deliver mail 3 days a week. MWF for one zip code, TTS for the next, etc.

You want to save the postal service? Make it matter again.

For many years the postal service delivered almost everything that mattered, from es about family and friends to paychecks.

Now they deliver mass mailed ads.

Hey daytrading FReepers, Amazon stock may be a fun trade (DOWN) in the a.m. on the prospect of higher fees from USPS.

“according to the two people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity” Here we go again anonymous sources quoted by the Wash Post and MSN. Until it comes from Munichin or Trump, it is likely fake news.

Here's the best solution: Turn the USPS into a social media hub.

That's right - For an annual or monthly fee, let Americans get a secured email address for digital mail and a social media page. Let the USPS expand into banking, debit cards, short-term loans, and online bill-pay.

This will immediately destroy the Left's stranglehold on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. With the USPS, every American can engage on their page without the fear of censorship or shadow-banning.

And for packages? Current USPS post offices can still arrange package pickups or a post office box. Rural dwellers can still opt for mail delivery.

There is no need for mail delivery as it exists today. It is an anachronism. It also wastes precious resources. Digitize all regular mail, let the Post Office implement online bill pay and checking and debit accounts, and it'll become solvent and profitable within 3 years.

USPS is the only thing that has helped during all this BS, They are the only ones not trying to disrupt our lives. I salute them!

Triple the cost of sending out the junk mail none of us wants to get anyway.

Not really.

Grandma has no problem with mail, and higher degree of on time deliveries, and any important mail is sent via UPS of FedEx.

The lack of junk mail the last few weeks has reduced the crap I transfer directly to the trash by probably two thirds. It’s been great. One upside I can find to this whole disastrous mess.

There goes cheap delivery for Amazon. And that China subsidy definitely ain’t happening anymore. That could help the American logistical supply chain.

Keep the post office.

Renegotiate the deals with amazon and UPS and FedEx

END the prepayment of the healthcare. USPS employees are supposedly guaranteed healthcare for the next 70 years. At least put half or 75% of iit back into the budget, and keep the rest, assuming it is there. F-ckers in Washington probably spent it.

END the "developing Nation" BULLSHIT free shipping scam. NO more free shipping from shithole China and shithole Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan. etc.

Get rid of the clerk that sort of helped me today.

It always takes major effort on my part to refrain from saying....”And you wonder why the Post Office is going belly up!”

I have a former Guard coworker who worked for the post office as a carrier. He used to regale us with stories about how he would finish his route early and go home for a nap or to do household chores. He also took a lot of time off to fly on Guard missions and one new supervisor told him he needed to chose between the Post Office and the Guard. He asked her to put it in writing and she did! So he filed a complaint with the union and our US Representative and she disappeared soon after. Multiply that by 100,000 and it’s no wonder that the Post Office is in such terrible shape. If people could only see the gross waste and inefficiency they would demand immediate action.

The postal service in this rural area doesn’t deliver packages-they throw them at your gate, or at the post of your rural mailbox-both places are at the edge of the road, 75-200 ft. away from your house down a long driveway-so you get broken stuff, or your packages disappear because you are at work when the mail is delivered-so most of us don’t use the USPS at all-we get and pay our bills online, and we get our packages delivered-right to our deck or porch if we leave the gate open for them- by UPS or FedEX-but the postal service out for bids, like any private contract...

Privatize the post office and/or contract the hard work and paper pushers to companies like UPS or FedEx or some company like that. They can apply for there jobs at those places, I'm sure those companies will take the hard workers and hire them,
and throw those liberal Democrat unionized paper pushers resumes into the trash cans.

“Trump administration considers leveraging emergency coronavirus loan to force Postal Service changes”

i was really hoping that this is what President Trump would do when he said on one of his coronavirus pressers that the USPS needed to starting charging what packages really cost to deliver

btw, undercharging for package delivery does two things:

1. every dollar of taxpayer subsidization of package delivery goes into the pocket of some super-billionaire like Jeff Bezos, who owns amazon

2. amounts to unfair taxpayer subsidization that hurts mom and pop brick and mortar stores ...

The post office is killing itself off...since infrastructure is already in place, new management could turn it around faster than Linda Blair’s head in “The Exorcist”...
