CNN wont send staffers back into its offices until at least September. In an internal email obtained by The Daily Beast, network chief Jeff Zucker told staff that the vast majority of company staff will not be returning to the office in any significant way before the end of summer. Our expectation is that the rest of you will not return before early September, with a few exceptions in July for newsgathering and some in August, depending on the political conventions, Zucker said, noting that some dates could be subject to change. But, to be clear, production of our programs will continue from home, as is it is now, until the end of summer.
Over the past several weeks, many news outlets have begun to plan out what a physical return to company offices would look like. In a staff-wide email earlier this month, Fox News set May 4 as a target to reopen its offices, though given that New York City is closed down until May 15, the network will almost certainly push back this deadline.

* so why the extreme-sounding foot dragging from zucker for cnn? *
I flipped on CBS last night after dinner and “Entertainment Tonight” was replaced in the Philly market with some slickly packaged New Jersey telethon to support “Essential Workers” and so forth. If I heard one more NJ celebrity solemnly intone “We’re all in this together” I was going to put my foot thru the TV set. Where do they get off preaching to me? And we’re clearly NOT all in this together. Those “Essential Workers” whatever their risk levels still have JOBS. They can still meet their bills. And when this is over they’ll be way better off that Joe or Susie who find out that their employer went out of business or downsized them right out of a job.
The other half of the Coronovirus Crisis is what does or does not happen AFTER we open things back up. And then you’re going to see the Media gymnastics when they try to blame Trump for the failure to open the economy sooner.
Don’t return until January 1st 2025 at which time CNN will be down forever.
NEWS FLASH: CNN Orders its employees to continue to lie from home.
Learn to code.
Nothing like a little humor as CNN hides in their bunkers, and Peckerhead Fauci tells America that PROTESTS TO GET BACK TO LIVING WILL BACKFIRE.
Danke ......
Unless the death counts start to skyrocket, you will have full on ignoring of the “lockdowns” and open defiance and rebellion long before mid July.
Its insane that the entire country is locked down because the Acela Corridor is having issues, and even there the numbers are nowhere near the dire doom and gloom they were predicting.
At present, it looks like if everyone just lived their damned lives, the death toll from this would be about 250k worst case. A big number to be sure, but that’s about 3-4 times a bad flu year...
The lockdown’s purpose was to BEND THE CURVE, which means keep any spikes from overwhelming the system, well that’s clearly not happening even in the hardest hit areas... they are nowhere near overwhelmed... Bending the curve does NOT lower the total number of cases and deaths directly caused by the disease... just spreads them out.
The more the numbers come in, the less and less people are going to put up with this crap.
I’ll vacation in Sweden if they still have the rest of the world locked down this year.
In Minnesota, after a long winter, people are already out and about taking long walks and bike rides. I think folks in northern states will not easily comply with losing their summer time by being shut up inside.
__________
I hear you!!
.... after a long winter
________
LOL
.... in a way that's sort of like AOC increasing the percentage of foolish remarks the longer her mouth stays open?
:-)
BINGO
[CNN] could sit a troop of baboons at the keyboards and pay them in banana slices and put out equivalent work.

LOL! True.
In Canada, pretty much everybody has a swimming pool above ground below ground if they have money. Contrast that to where I grew up, in Des Plaines Illinois. Very few people had pools there, and I think the case is the same throughout the northern states. Not too sure about the south
In Canada, the winters are so long and cold (it was snowing lightly yesterday!) that people want to soak up every drop of sunshine.
