Machine learning could check if you’re social distancing properly at work

Andrew Ng’s startup Landing AI has created a new workplace monitoring tool that issues an alert when anyone is less than the desired distance from a colleague.

Six feet apart: On Thursday, the startup released a blog post with a new demo video showing off a new social distancing detector. On the left is a feed of people walking around on the street. On the right, a bird’s-eye diagram represents each one as a dot and turns them bright red when they move too close to someone else. The company says the tool is meant to be used in work settings like factory floors and was developed in response to the request of its customers (which include Foxconn). It also says the tool can easily be integrated into existing security camera systems, but that it is still exploring how to notify people when they break social distancing. One possible method is an alarm that sounds when workers pass too close to one another. A report could also be generated overnight to help managers rearrange the workspace, the company says.

I wouldn’t work for a company that had that. People are not meant to be treated like lepers. It’s against human nature.

That’s why they want the beeping ass-backing alert, to avoid interpersonal collisions from mask wearers. Snort!

What? No infrared to identify if you are running a fever.

FYI, Mark Cuban, the Chinese, etc. has had this technology for a long time. Nothing new.

60 percent of folks if offered bare subsistence living in exchange for doing nothing, would gleefully give up their freedoms or chance for a better life. Perhaps even 70 percent...

“infrared to identify if you are running a fever’

Or a red dot targeting you if you violate the rules one too many times.

Not distance. Air currents. You can be twenty feet away but if the air from their exhale goes in your direction then the virus goes with it.

Short of wearing a full body virus protection suit it’s not possible to use an elevator without being exposed to other people’s viruses. The CCP virus can float in the air for hours and travel long distances. Not only is “social distancing” a highly speculative remedy, there is no rational basis it could even work. It’s total junk science.

How long do they plan to keep this social distancing going? From now on?

I think people in the office should be fitted with those electronic dog collars. Then everybody could wear the equivalent of a dog fence. What hilarity would ensue!

It’s total junk science.

All of these "guidelines" which mutate into ORDERS have no basis in data

Dr. Faux-see admitted that at a March presser when questioned about the number of "large group gatherings" which he had set at 10 but a southern Governor has set at 25.

He admitted that it was arbitrary and drawn out of the hat

What a bunch of stupid sheeple we've turned out to be.

I’m just becoming daily more shocked that we’ve basically going from a humming free market economy into a depressed, fearful, controlled, statist dictatorship in a little over one month. And all this under Trump, who was the president we thought was going to finally kick all the communists and Deep staters out of DC and even out of our country. It feels like we’ve been conquered without a shot being fired. I just don’t understand what has happened.
