The Food and Drug Administration has approved the first at-home test for the coronavirus.
It's made by LabCorp, that said due to limited quantities, it will first be made available to healthcare workers and first responders...
The FDA approval is not a "general authorization for at-home collection of patient samples" and only applies to the LabCorp testing kit.
Right now, the kits are available in Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island.

Given the fact that some tests have been shown to contain the virus and have infected people, Ill pass.
The modern medical industry is quite amazing and this crisis is really highlighted how once we put a businessman in charge he went to the real people who make it run , which are the large laboratories
The fact that we could go from not knowing what this thing even was two months ago to having something like this is absolutely amazing
The only insidious and dangerous part about the medical industry is their zeal for vaccines
Where are these made ?
Nobody wants to talk about that do they.
Wow...filling those vials at home is going to take more than a finger prick with a tiny lancet. “DIY Phlebotomy” — I think I’ll pass.
Don’t expect to get one of these tests. Even if there were to be made generally available, and hundreds of millions magically produced, every neurotic brain-addled hypochondriac is going to buy up pallets of them to test themselves every 30 seconds.
Sounds like a cash cow for the manufacturer, though.
COVID-19 Test (At-Home Kit)So you can test your "immununity" by shoving a Q-Tip up your nose and sending it back to them for testing.
Sample Type: Nasal SwabGET STARTED - $119
Now you can access COVID-19 testing from home.
We'll send you an at-home kit to collect your nasal swab sample and ship it back to our lab. Our lab will test your sample for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes coronavirus disease (also called COVID-19), a respiratory illness. This test is designed to determine active infection with the virus that causes COVID-19; it is NOT designed to determine the presence of antibodies or assess immununity. Would you trust a medical device company that cannot even spell "immunity" on its own web site???
Is it REALLY that hard to proof-read your product page on your own web site?
There are 6700 confirmed cases in the Bay Area.
Using Stanford Scientific measure to estimate actual number of 50-80 times infected and using the lower denominator of 50
We find 6700 x 50= 335,000
There are 218 CCP-19 deaths
Result?
218 ÷ 335,000=0.06507463%
WTX are we doing?
Nasal swab
Lots of people are saying it’s wrong to believe the Stanford 50X-80X findings, that the methodology and statistics were very faulty.
Yeah?
Well they are fookin wrong.
CDC regularly uses guesstimates in their annual tally of flu infections and flu related deaths.
They use the confirmed cases and a formula to arrive at estimates.
BTW, many are saying Fauxci is wrong and yet, here we are...
Who needs a test to know if he's sick?
And we know that not all tests or testing is 100% correct all the time.
Not terribly exciting. This is a self-collection kit. You swab your own nose and then mail it in and wait for this results. Not really seeing this as a major game changer. It ain’t an instant-result home pregnancy test sorta thing.
One more thing
Gavin Gruesome said that 25.5 million Californians could be infected.
Someone he trusts gave him that number and I think it is wholly improbable
But, if he wants to stick with 2/3rds then he can live with my lower estimates.
That
His boo chit number is why he is slow walking opening California and he is both immoral and amoral

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) - During President Trump’s White House briefing Sunday evening, he mentioned how different states and organizations are stepping up to help the country during the COVID-19 pandemic.
ORNL researcher works with radioactive material/ (WVLT)
One group on the list was the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in East Tennessee.
“We are working with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory to use its injection molding capacity to potentially produce over ten million collection tubes per week, that’s tremendous numbers,” said President Trump while addressing the country.
ORNL took to Twitter Sunday afternoon saying they are joining other national labs in the fight against COVID-19.
“ORNL researchers are applying expertise in computational science, advanced manufacturing, data science and neutron science to combat #COVID19”, the tweet read.
It would help if the aymptomatics knew they were infected so they could quarantine and not be a major source of spread. But, as you say, the accuracy needs to be there. Also, I don’t understand the benefit of this test verses one you can have professionally done for free/less with a quucker turn around time.
Wow. Do you have a link to reputable article on this?
That's what is needed and would be a game changer.
