An Egyptian military aircraft of medical supplies was sent on Tuesday, April 21, to the US to help it in fighting the coronavirus pandemic, according to the spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency.
In a statement he published on his Facebook official account, the spokesman said: "President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi directs to send medical aid to the United States."
The video statement showed crates in wrapping that read in English and Arabic, "From the Egyptian people to the American people," being loaded into a military cargo plane.
Dutch Ruppersberger, who leads a group in the US House of Representatives that promotes relations with Egypt, said the plane landed at Andrews Air Force base outside Washington, Asharq Al-Awsat reported.
The plane brought 200,000 masks, 48,000 shoe covers and 20,000 surgical caps among other supplies, said Ruppersberger.
The US ambassador in Cairo, Jonathan Cohen, also voiced appreciation for the generous shipment

Yep...and thanks
Many big US cities are far more primitive and uneducated than Egypt. I can see democrats bitching that they had to turn to foreign aid because Trump wouldn’t help.
Thank you Egypt!
EGYPT has to send US Medical Supplies??? OMG!!
lol
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
Nice to see some help our way for a change.
But why did we need help in the first place? Lazy, inept goobermint, and tight fisted hospital ceo’s... Every hospital and health department facility in the nation should ALWAYS have pandemic-levels of PPE on hand. They are cheap, and shouldn’t require expiration dates if kept in clean storage.
A very smart Dutch friend who holds Master Degrees in both mathematics and geophysics told me that, in his opinion, the best university he ever encountered is the American University in Cairo.
