Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says its an interesting debate whether large firms should get small-business coronavirus relief loans.
The main purpose obviously of this small business program was small businesses, McConnell said Tuesday.
On the other hand, you could make an argument that if my job was lost, the size of my employer doesnt make any difference to me. Im out of work. So its an interesting debate. Were feeling our way along here, were trying to do the best we can to get money to our people and to our small businesses.

I would have though criminal would have been a better choice of words.
He knew where this money was going, their lawyers wrote the bill.
Claw that money back and out it in the hands of the small businesses. Loved the President today reaming Harvard. They should be ashamed of themselves. The big guys always cut in line..
Please someone primary this asshole!
They like to give money to big corporations as they get kickbacks in the form of campaign donations. It is so obvious.
What a jerk.
This is partly why I have very little allegiance to any political party. I will never, ever pull D but I pull the R usually because it’s not the D.
Small firms don’t give political kickbacks.
Well, they had to have known that by letting the banks administer the program that the banks would favor lending to the clients who owed them the most money. That said, McConnell’s comments indicate that the plan all along was to favor aid to larger “small” businesses who employ more people...and pay more taxes. Just playing the percentages.
So, the DNC Media purposely omitting the rest of his statement, which makes perfect sense BTW, to seems to be okie dokie with a lot of FR Posters.
Thats an interesting debate.
Yeah my small bank said right out they would favor first, businesses with which they had loans out to and accts with. So if you aren’t already in debt, you can be bc they won’t give you any money.
I like what was said at the briefing. They are sending out forms explaining the purpose of the loans and requiring either a signature or return of the funds. If they sign the form attesting they qualify and do not there are going to be consequences
Ones donating to his campaign equal good.
Others equal bad. Simplifies it.
Translates into Mitch is getting kickbacks and/or campaign donations.
I try not to pull the D either. They told me when I was a boy I’d go blind.
WHat really irks me is how they ever got in line, let alone cut in front of the true small businesses for which this was intended. There HAS to be a way to claw this back...
