We recently saw a photo of Ethel Kennedy, the widow of the late Senator Robert Kennedy, with an image of Che Guevara in the background.
At first, I thought that the lady was photographed in the wrong place. I tried very hard to give her the benefit of the doubt. After all, she is the widow of a former attorney general and U.S. senator plus sister in law of a president who almost went to nuclear war over Cuba.
We were later told that Mrs. Kennedy is a big fan of Che because she has a "subversive streak."
With all due respect to Ethel Kennedy, who just turned 92 this month, Che was not exactly nice to subversives. He usually locked or executed them.
The lady's love affair with Che reminds me of what Howard LaFranchi of the Christian Science Monitor wrote a few years ago entitled "Bush and Che: different concepts of freedom."

When conservatives dream, they dream of being one of the Founders. Or perhaps one of the Minutemen at Lexington. When liberals dream, they dream of being Che Guevara.
To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary. These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a revolution! And a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate. We must create the pedagogy of the execution wall.
Che Guevara
And she came close to being first lady, advisor to lineral RFK. May have to think Sirhans role in history. Not in favor of murder, but he may have saved this country for 50 years. Makes me wonder if RFKlet Ethel get away with this, why he was a hard ass against commies and the mob?

And there is this one, I was quite proud of it when I made it, but haven't had the opportunity to post it much:
Camelot is just a myth that was created to polish a turd. The Kennedy clan is just a collection of shanty Irish bootleggers who built a castle on a pile of bones.
Like Sleepy Joe, I bet Ethel doesnt know where she is or what day it is most of the time. The way she treated her children leads me to think they have very little interaction with her. That picture probably has been there for decades and who knows where it came from.
I really despise him.
A couple of years ago, I went on a weekend thing with my wife, her sister and her sisters son.
Nice kid, art major, but like many kids, kind of clueless about certain things. We were going out to eat one night, and he comes down wearing a Che shirt.
We had the following conversation:
ME: Do you know who that guy is on your shirt?
NEPHEW: Ummm...hes a revolutionary guy?
ME: Yeah. Do you know what kind of revolutionary guy?
NEPHEW: Umm...no.
ME: It was his job to have people who disagreed with Castro dragged out of their homes in the middle of the night and murdered in front of their families, and then the families were sometimes murdered. This guy was the one who did it.
NEPHEW: Um...I just kind of like the shirt.
ME: Ah.
My wife didnt give me the evil eye because she understood my point, but I am the mean conservative in my wifes family. My mother-in-law used to goad me once in a while (she was EXTREMELY liberal) but when I made it known that I would express my views regardless of the company, she stopped.
I dont talk politics around people whose politics I am unsure of because I do believe it is rude to do so, but if someone brings it up first, Im not going to just sit there.
Makes me wonder if RFK let Ethel get away with this, why he was a hard ass against commies and the mob?
If there is one thing that I learned from my own failed marriage is that just because two people are married it does not mean that they have the same beliefs.
Sirhan Sirhan probably loves Che and Che’s views on assassination/summary execution too.
To hell with her.
And the dumbass old Escabeche* names her dog the Argentine slang word for “Hey you”. Nice.
* In some South American countries, “Escabeche” is slang word for a dried up, tough old hen (woman). It comes from the fact that when a hen stops laying eggs - due to old age - she is too tough to be eaten unless she is marinaded in a stew.
Ethel is a Skakel. All one needs to know.
Yup!
Good on ya. They really have no clue. When I was in school our “History” lessons stopped with WWII. I have to look up Che on my own. I am a lot older than this kid.
Also I started the old Amazing Race on Hulu. Interesting that a contestent wore a Che shirt and a Chinese commie hat while in China. Just amazing. He was also black. People are clueless. They need to be gently educated.
On that note Ethel Kennedy is certainly old enough to know better.
Pass me a nine iron will ya?
Let AOC see it, too.
LOL
