Donald Trump wants to defund the WHO. The world should do the opposite
The Globe and Mail ^ | April 19, 2020 | Pete Marovich

Donald Trump is often wrong, but sometimes he’s just a little bit right. And when it comes to the World Health Organization, there are some morsels of truth in the U.S. President’s heaping bowl of error. Unfortunately, his preferred solution leans entirely on what he gets wrong.

But aside from being a victim of information suppression, the WHO may also have been reluctant to offend one of the world’s superpowers.

I mean come on just because China destroyed the world's economy and maybe will cause the deaths of a million people what's the big whoop. Tell you what England you like WHO than you fund it.

Bill’s Gates’ puppet

Meet the world’s most powerful doctor: Bill Gates
By NATALIE HUET AND CARMEN PAUN 5/4/17, 12:00 PM CET Updated 5/8/17, 11:52 AM CET
https://www.politico.eu/article/bill-gates-who-most-powerful-doctor/

Some billionaires are satisfied with buying themselves an island. Bill Gates got a United Nations health agency in Geneva.

Over the past decade, the world’s richest man has become the World Health Organization’s second biggest donor, second only to the United States and just above the United Kingdom. This largesse gives him outsized influence over its agenda, one that could grow as the U.S. and the U.K. threaten to cut funding if the agency doesn’t make a better investment case.

The result, say his critics, is that Gates’ priorities have become the WHO’s....

In January, 30 health advocacy groups penned an open letter to WHO’s executive board protesting against making the Gates Foundation an official partner of the agency because its revenue comes from investments in companies that are at odds with public health goals, such as Coca-Cola...

Gates’ influence over the WHO was called into question once again during the race to succeed Chan as its director general.

The final three candidates include Sania Nishtar, a cardiologist from Pakistan who has pledged to take the agency “back to its former glory”; David Nabarro, a British physician and former U.N. special envoy for Ebola; and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who has served as health minister and foreign minister in the Ethiopian government.

...Last year, a French diplomat suggested that Gates also supports Tedros, having funded health programs in his country when he was health minister. Several foundation officials have denied this, saying that the foundation cannot take a position given that it is not a voting member country and thus has to remain neutral.

“Donald Trump is often wrong, but sometimes he’s just a little bit right.”

It’s nice when a garbage hit piece identifies intent right from the start. Saves time.

I’m not so sure the end game is defunding WHO. Maybe it’s more of an attitude adjustment.

I’m perfectly fine with the rest of the world funding the WHO....and while they’re at it, they can fund all the other alphabet agencies that exist. America can take a breather, build our Country back up and the citizens of all the other Countries can become the new slaves.

Globe and Mail is not as left leaning as the Toronto Star, but still left of conservative thinking.

“He thinks the WHO has a problem: that it’s been insufficiently independent of China. He is not the first person to have suggested this, though by his actions, he’s trying to make the problem worse. Great strategy, chief.”

He’s leveraging change in an organization that has failed tremendously in its mission. To do otherwise would be irresponsible.

The article is painful to read.

I agree completely, and “the world” should take all responsibility for the UN while we’re at it.

It is shame this asshat’s main premise is WRONG. Trump is suspending funding while there is an internal review. Trump is absolutely right the rest of the world should fund more.....is something like this even had value. They clearly dropped the ball with this virus. Maybe Andrew Cuomo should be the head of WHO.

The WHAT HAPPENED ORGANIZATION.

But aside from being a victim of information suppression,

As if the WHO was the victim, and not the perpetrator.

the WHO may also have been reluctant to offend one of the world’s superpowers.

And what is being done about this "mistake?" The Ethiopian warlord still has his job.

The irony in all of this is that China isn’t the WHO’s biggest donor.

Here, the entire logic is refuted. WHO didn't act as lackeys to China for the funding, but for the geopolitical power. The elites have decided China is the next big dog, and have already surrendered all life, all liberty, all imagination to it.

“Maybe Andrew Cuomo should be the head of WHO.”

Gov. A Cornuto (D-NY) is busy making NY more of a shithole.
