While admitting on Monday that he could see the shutdown debate from both sides of the issue, Fox News contributor Dan Bongino said that it was a bit much to watch House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ride out the pandemic from her multi-million dollar mansion while denigrating those who are protesting the shutdown in Michigan, Ohio, and elsewhere. Bongino said that Pelosi, who is insulated from the economic effects of a prolonged shutdown, should have more compassion for those who are not.
Bongino said he was taken aback by Pelosis recent interview with Chris Wallace, in which she was seemingly confused about what protesters were doing.
On Sunday, Pelosi was asked if she could understand why protests were growing.
Her answer: No, not really.
Because what we have to do is, is shelter in place. That is really the answer, Pelosi said. Testing, tracing, treatment, shelter in place. And I do think that its unfortunate, but, you know people will do what they do. But the fact is were all impatient. We all want out. But what theyre doing is really unfortunate.
Let me enlighten you, Nancy, because you seem to be living in an insulated $25,000 freezer ice cream bubble and you dont get it, Bongino said. Here it is plain and simple: People have to feed their families. These are smart Americans who are intelligent. They understand theres a risk. They live with risk every day.
If you need to understand that, Nancy, go talk to a construction worker on a construction site down the block that is living with multimillion-dollar equipment that could kill him in a minute, he continued. If you tell him or her on that site, Youre going to need to wear a mask. There are precautions. You may have to wear some kind of hand protection, wash our hands often and we may have to distance, but you will be able to go to work and feed your kids. I promise you the entrepreneurial brave American citizens will figure it the hell out. Get out of your bubble. People have to feed their kids. That is whats going on right now.
Bongino said hes just about had it with elected officials talking down to the American people as if we were nothing more than a collection of spoiled children.
They work for us. Stop talking like this is like Romper Room. Were not children, were adults. Weve lived much harder lives than these people who are governing us, he said. Its a joke the way they talk to people. I dont understand what theyre doing? Well, figure it the hell out. Thats your darn job to understand what were doing.
No, no, Dan. Pelosis job is to sit in her ivory tower and treat Trump and all of his supporters like misguided idiots who need the government to step in and control their lives. This is the Democratic Partys entire M.O., and the coronavirus has given them the perfect opportunity to wallow in it. Well, enjoy it. Weve got a feeling that your petty tyranny will be extremely short lived.
A significant number of Us are acting like scared little kids who are eager to trade all our freedom for some security. One would hope that the Nov election would throw out all of the Tyrants from Washington but I don't know anyone who thinks that is likely. It seems perfectly likely that the scared children will leave Democrats in control of the House so that Nancy can continue to make our decisions for us.
The people have no bread!
Pelosi: “Let them eat ice cream!”
It’s going to be a Rocky Road all the way to the election.
No, they don’t have to “feed their kids.” Public agencies will deliver prepared foods to their door. School systems will hand them food through the window of their $50,000 SUV in the parking lot.
I see what you did there. :)
Pelosi’s reaction to all this is a little vanilla don’t you think?
On the other hand there are a lot of cases of grocery store clerks getting the virus and dying.
I’d say ask the people to SIP. If they can’t or won’t it is their decision. Don’t need guberment mandates.
People who have to feed their families are ‘non-essential’.

Humm. I have not read any such reports of retail workers dying from cov-19
I know they can get infected.....few and far between, but dying ???
"People are taking to the streets, pushing back against some of the more stringent restrictions in some states," Wallace said during the interview, which is set to air Sunday on Fox News Channel. "Can you understand why they're doing that?"
Pelosi responded: "No, not, not really because what we have to do is, is, is shelter in place. That is really the answer."
Meanwhile, Nancy, In the real world, not your billionaire world, Our economy/citizens have been brutally raped/abused with the actions of your fellow elites, democrat governors and mediots!
A shutdown is a broadly destructive solution, to a problem that could have been solved with far more targeted approaches!"
Quarantines only work to keep a small amount of sick people from going out and spreading the disease!
They dont work to keep the vast majority of healthy people locked inside.
Thanks to HotHunt for this great visual!
If people want to stay home, let them! NO ONE wants to force them to go out
What you did there, I see it.

Nope you're wrong Bongino - everyday Americans are just bored sitting in their kitchens with their fully stocked $24,000 refrigerators... wondering what flavor of ice cream to eat next.
