The New York Times has done some shameless things in its past, but exploiting a mans death to serve its agenda has to be among its worst.
Thats what it did in a recent portrait of, as New York magazines Jonathan Chait put it, a man killed by Fox News: Ginia Bellafantes story of the COVID-19 death of Joe Joyce, owner of Brooklyns JJ Bubbles bar.
On March 1, Joyce and his wife took a cruise to Spain. Joyce was a fan of Fox News, especially host Sean Hannity, who declared on air that Americans were getting unnecessarily scared by this new hoax, Bellafante wrote. Eventually, Fox took the virus more seriously, but the Joyces were long gone by then. That is, Joyce died because he listened to Fox News.

I wish the NY Times had killed James Joyce. Would have saved me a lot of wasted and painful time trying to read one of his books in college.
Speaking of downplaying the virus:
The top governmental epidemiologist in the country, Dr. Anthony Fauci, on February 29, 2020: No need to change lifestyle yet.
That was on a The Today Show appearance, which the last I looked, was NOT on Fox News.
Of course The NY Times doesnt mention this.
They lie by omission.
THE TERM-LIMITED-FAILED PREZ CANDIDATE DEBLOBBIO DESPERATELY NEEDS THE VIRUS TO HANG ONTO POWER
(AND TO ADVANCE HIS CORRUPT WIFE'S INANE POLITICAL AMBITIONS).
<><>De Blasio and NYC Officials continually downplayed COVID-19 Threat as the death rate skyrocketed.
<><> After Trump Restricted Travel to China, de Blasio and his top health official were actually telling NY'ers take the subway and attend parades months after President Donald Trump restricted travel to coronavirus-plagued China.
<><> Heres reality: This is a war-like situation, de Blasio said in a March 14 interview with MSNBCs Joy Reid. Were in a wartime scenario with a Mar-a-Lago attitude being used by the federal government, he added, referencing Trumps resort in Florida.
<><> DeBLASIO SUCKED UP BIGTIME. I want to be clear, this is about a virus, not a group of people. There is NO excuse for anyone to discriminate or stigmatize people of Asian heritage. We are here today to urge all New Yorkers to continue to live their lives as usual, she said. As we gear up to celebrate the #LunarNewYear in NYC, I want to assure New Yorkers that there is no reason for anyone to change their holiday plans, avoid the subway, or certain parts of the city because of #coronavirus.
<><> The Mayor's sophmoric Health Commissioner, a latina doctor, argued in a local TV interview on Feb. 7 that the city is telling New Yorkers, go about your lives, take the subway, go out, enjoy life. She did say that citizens must practice good hygiene, but suggested the biggest threat comes from family members and not large packs of people. And so we know that this virus can be transmitted from one individual to another, but that its typically people who live together, she
H/C Joke Barbot promoted attendance at New York Chinatowns New Year parade and festivities on Feb. 9. Barbot appeared to suggest Trumps travel restrictions were racist in a Feb. 2 tweet to her followers. She urged New Yorkers to ride the subways. go to Chinatown, and enjoy he New Year.
Since over half the deaths are in NY and NJ you could argue the NYT has plenty of blame for this fiasco.
