The Critical Variable in Keeping Coronavirus in Check
The Wall Street Journal ^ | April 20, 2020 | Stephen Fidler

Posted on 04/20/2020 2:47:03 PM PDT by MinorityRepublican

Governments across Europe and in the U.S. say they have driven down a key variable to levels that suggest that the lockdowns that plunged their economies into the deep freeze are succeeding in containing the spread of the deadly new coronavirus.

The variable measures the average number of other people each carrier of the new coronavirus infects. This infection ratio will be avidly watched as policy makers calibrate the task of rolling back measures that have kept hundreds of millions of people at home.

If the reproduction ratio is below one, the epidemic peters out. The closer to one, the slower the decline, and the greater risk of a resurgence. If the ratio sticks above one, the epidemic will gather momentum. The good news is across Europe and in parts of the U.S. the ratio has fallen below one.

And how are they measuring this? Cell phone metadata, almost certainly.

“...And how are they measuring this?...”

They can’t. With so many people, they cannot know how many people have the virus, drop the virus, transmit the virus, get the virus...those numbers will be changing way beyond any way “they say” they can measure them. Rest assured this will be a real politicized mess....to suit agendas.

the variable is, does the libtard media and socialist pols believe they can still steal the election in 2020 with a senile groping pervert who sucks his wife’s fingers on the campaign trail.

lockdown was supposed to guarantee this with the scared sh1tless sheeple by the media retards and scientists with crappy doomsday models.

lockdowns, based on wildly exaggerated, fake “predictions” of IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON, have had little or nothing to do with the downturns. where are the millions of dead?

BBC Hardtalk: no mention of the WILDLY EXAGGERATED, FAKE IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON “predictions”, which caused the LOCKDOWNS.

no questions about Wuhan labs. Trump bad.

no hard questions. no honest answers.

Youtube: 24:27 - 20 Apr: BBC Hardtalk: Dr David Nabarro: Society must “learn to live” with coronavirus
With nation states across the world struggling to contain the coronavirus pandemic, there is an urgent need for an internationally coordinated response. That is where the UN agency the World Health Organisation should have a vital role to play, but right now the WHO is at the centre of a political storm. Donald Trump has withdrawn US funding, accusing the agency of being China-centric. Stephen Sackur speaks to WHO special envoy for Covid-19 David Nabarro. Is his organisation failing its greatest test?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaXQlL-HeOE

just one of the pertinent details not mentioned by BBC/Sackur:

***David is currently Co-Director (since mid-2019) and Chair of Global Health at the Institute of Global Health Innovation, IMPERIAL COLLEGE, LONDON

WHO: WHO Director-General’s Special Envoys on COVID-19 Preparedness and Response
On the 21st of February 2020, the Director-General appointed six Special Envoys on COVID-19, to provide strategic advice and high-level political advocacy and engagement in different parts of the world...
•Dr. David Nabarro, former Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Climate Change...

David was a Lecturer in Nutrition and Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (1982-1985) and Senior Lecturer in Health Systems at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (1985-1989). He joined the United Kingdom Government Foreign Office (Overseas Development Administration) as Senior Health Adviser for East Africa (1989–1990) and Chief Health and Population Adviser (1990-1997). He became Director for Human Development in the UK Department for International Development (DFID, 1997–1999). In 1999 David moved into the United Nations system starting as an Executive Director at the World Health Organization...

First of all this virus is killing less than 1% OF HEALTHY people. A deadly virus it is not. That would be Ebola virus which killed much more % of infected.

It's a good question.

Here's the "simple" method to back into it.

If anyone is aware of a very simple method speak up.

20 Apr: Sky News Australia: UN climate change fund calls coronavirus an ‘opportunity’ to re-shape the world
Digital Editor Jack Houghton
The UN-funded financial arm of the Paris Agreement has labelled the killer coronavirus an “opportunity” to raise funds for climate change action and “relaunch economies on low-emission, climate-resilient trajectories”.
The extraordinary statements have been published in a document by the Green Climate Fund – an international organisation with a $10.3 billion budget (US)...

“While COVID-19 is causing untold suffering, the international response to this unprecedented health crisis in modern times offers an opportunity to direct finances towards bolstering climate action. GCF will continue to make critical investments in climate-resilient water resource management, health care facilities, agriculture and livelihoods – all of which are essential to subduing and overcoming the pandemic,” the organisation wrote in an official public update.
“Similarly, we will step up our efforts to catalyse green investment to relaunch economies on low-emission, climate-resilient trajectories.
“The Green Climate Fund is confident that only a united approach – bringing together determined efforts and innovation – will provide lasting solutions to both the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change.”

The Green Climate Fund went on to suggest that climate change was a threat comparable to COVID-19 which has killed 165,000 people, infected millions more and ravaged global economies.
“The COVID-19 pandemic and the global response required to stem it shows the importance of acting together to solve unparalleled threats to people and our planet,” the GCF said.
“The far-reaching impacts of COVID-19 are a stark reminder of the catastrophic implications the world faces if we don’t.”...

It can also now be revealed that the fund sent $157.5 million (AUD) to China in December despite the country planning on increasing emissions by several thousand mega tonnes of CO2 by 2030.
China escaped having to pay a cent towards the climate change fund by hanging on to its “developing nation” status even though it is a global superpower with the world’s second largest economy.
China’s failure to contribute to the fund led to US President Donald Trump withdrawing from the deal, clawing back billions...

The variables are:

1. The population density and
2. The density of the population.

Hence why NYC is screwed up.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

The false positive rate was 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old fart’s life, it's worth it.

Is this a bad time to remind everyone that this engineered virus has both HIV and Ebola spike proteins?

May I also remind that the people who engineered it absolutely FREAKED out when it escaped?

...the WHO is at the centre of a political storm.
__________________________________________________

And why would that be so?

It’s a simple HOLD for only 60 days while investigations take place. Suddenly, everyone from the UN on down is bemoaning the *loss* of the *vital* WHO.

Vital to whom? Vital for what?

Inquiring minds....

USA 792,759 42,514 72,389 677,856 13,951 2,395 128

USA death rate from 792,759 confirmed cases is 42,514.
= 5.3%

Ebola death rate was in 30+% area.

And when you add Asymptomatic infected, the denominator is easily 2 to 3 times bigger, reducing the death rate to barely 1% in USA.

Germany has much lower death rate.

USA death rate is higher than Germany because we have lot more obesity than Germany.

Not arguing the actual US death rate.

Just pointing out that the people who en'gene'ered it were clearly expecting a MUCH higher fatality rate, and reacted as if the world was coming to an end when it escaped or was released.

Just curious...

...how many people who were never actually sick have ever been counted in the calculations of the percentage of flu deaths?
