New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said during a press briefing on Saturday that COVID-19 hospitalizations are "starting to descend" while also calling for more testing throughout the state.
The governor cited models depicting a decline in hospitalizations and ICU admissions related to the illness for the past three days, adding that medical facilities are no longer reporting that they are at "max capacity."
Cuomo also highlighted that the rates of intubation – the process of placing COVID-19 patients on breathing ventilators – are down, too.
"The probability is about 80 percent that you won't come off a ventilator after you [are] put one on," Cuomo said, calling the descending rates "good news."
He added that the state is still reporting 2,000 new COVID-19 hospitalizations daily, saying the situation is "sobering" as 540 more New Yorkers lost their lives to the virus on Friday.

It’s his damn fault there are so many cases in NY. he didn’t say boo when deblahblah started cutting back on buses and subway cars and packing people in to the remaining ones tighter..

On March 27, Cuomo outlawed HCQ for uses that are not FDA approved. The FDA approved HCQ to treat the Chinese Wuhan Flu on 3/28. HCQ is legal in NY and from what I understand, it is regularly prescribed in appropriate case as in other states. I don’t know anything about the clinical trials.
People in NY are NOT getting the combo. Pharmacies are not allowed to fill prescriptions from their doctors.
The only possibility of getting the combo is from a hospital in a controlled “study”.
So who gets the meds, and who gets something else is up to whoever is controlling the study.
If I had to go into the hospital for this and they checked my social media (I’m no fan of Cuomo), I’d probably be given a placebo. ;-)
This a-hole plays both sides like a bi-polar lunatic. America elects some of the most dangerous and idiotic people to make some of the most important decisions of our lives. It is stunning that most voters are too brain dead to realize this. It is a shame.

Not just to save money. Albany recently protected nursing homes on the state from both criminal and civil liability in WuFlu-related deaths. I’m sure Cuomo does not want discussions in court about what constitutes a WuFlu death or for folks to find out just what a lousy job the state does regulating and inspecting nursing homes. Or how late the state was in protecting their patients.

The directive contained in Executive Order 202.10 related to restrictions on dispensing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for prophylactic purposes is amended as follows: No pharmacist shall dispense hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine except when written: as prescribed for an FDA-approved indication; for an indication supported by one or more citations included or approved for inclusion in the compendia specified in 42 U.S.C. 1396r–8(g)(1)(B)(i); for patients in inpatient settings and acute settings; for residents in a subacute part of a skilled nursing facility; or as part of an study approved by an Institutional Review Board. Any person authorized to prescribe such medications shall denote on the prescription the condition for which the prescription has been issued.

Hell the hospitals are empty and they are laying off hospitals workers! His plan DELAY-GRAB POWER KEEP-THE POWER-DELAY! I live in one of the larger counties and only 2 places to get tested both at the 2 largest hospitals? You can’t get a test unless you have all the symptoms and are sent there by a Doc-WTF?
