Floridians didnt waste any time getting back to the sun and surf when beaches and parks were reopened in Jacksonville the same day the state clocked a record number of coronavirus cases.
Crowds were seen cheering and rushing the beach as police removed the barriers around 5 p.m. Friday, CNN reported.
Aerial photos show hundreds of people packing the sand to swim, stroll, surf and fish. Many were without masks.

It's when everybody stays inside when you begin getting the Chicom Cooties.
People are a heck of a lot closer in the grocery stores.
Well said, todd! I’m living my life the way I always have. Both my daughter and husband are dead — I am right with the Lord, so if I die, I know I will be reunited with them in heaven. God Bless You!
And if you opened a ballpark, the stands would be filled.
People are sick of the medical bureaucrats sh*t.
...Not one person caught COVID-19 during Spring Break and no one else was infected when those students went home.
Not quite.
Within days of a big spring break beach party in Miami, reports started popping up on Facebook about a D.J. and several partygoers who were suddenly terribly ill. By the end of the month, two people who attended the festival had died.
...38 people had reported that they were symptomatic or had tested positive for the coronavirus in the weeks following the event
Not quite.
Next...REAL Nascar! With real people in the stands, no more video gaming!
I don’t think that’s true.
Remember when they told us we didn’t need masks? Then all at once we had to have masks. I guess no mask wasn’t causing enough misery.
Ah, so by looking back it what happened during Spring Break and the pandemic, it might not be a great idea to open beaches?
Freedom is a beautiful sight.
Yeah, grocery stores that, with all the marginally-effective masks and ineffective silly scarves, more resemble an infirmary or an antifa convention than a supermarket. What fun it is to shop these days!
Too late for Kyle Larson. Oops.
“Can you swim with a mask on?”
Sure you can. Ever watch Sea Hunt?
That’s one way to enforce the “no tongue” rule.
It might not be a great idea to have wild keg parties anywhere but who’s going to tell a bunch of college kids on spring break.
Not true
Fake news alert
Yes a lot more cases yesterday but no one at CNN read the report disseminated publicly each day from the DOH
Specifically there were more tests done yesterday by 25% and there was only 9% positive.
If they listened to the briefing yesterday from the president if there is a 10% or less positive testing is appropriate. This demonstrates good news in terms of penetrated and will also drive the associated epidemiologically indicators down.
As far as staying home, forget that. I need feed, supplies, parts and things for the maintenance of the farm and the cows. So I go into the big city and shop at Lowes, Rural King, Tractor Supply and Walmart. I do wear a mask and the trip takes twice as long as it did without the virus restrictions but I still go mingle with people in the city.
Plus I get to stop at my favorite fava Caribbean taco truck on the highway on the way home for my fix of tacos.
To hale with the government telling us what we can or can't do in a free society. Remember we have rights and they can't arbitrarily be taken away by some government bureaucrat.
Our county has some cases of the virus but zero deaths. Why should we be mandated to follow the same rules as NYC or that slimy Miami? One rule can't be applied to a broad spectrum of society as if everyplace and everyone is the same.
