Sheriffs refuse to enforce governor's stringent stay-home orders 'Each of us took an oath to uphold and defend' the Constitution

After a massive citizen protest at the state capitol, several Michigan sheriffs announced they will not enforce some of Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's executive shelter-in-place orders, arguing they are bound by the Constitution.

Sheriffs Mike Borkovich, Ted Schendel, Ken Falk and Kim Cole promised to continue abiding by social distancing guidelines but contend Whitmer "has created a vague framework of emergency laws that only confuse Michigan citizens."

"While we understand her desire to protect the public, we question some restrictions that she has imposed as overstepping her executive authority," said the sheriff of Michigan's 101st state House district, comprise of Leelanau, Benzie, Manistee and Mason Counties.

So I just got off the phone today with a family member of a nurse working in the SE Michigan hospital system with Covid 19 patients. They still haven’t gotten enough PPE, and are still reusing the same Masks as they have been for weeks.

WTH is the Governor doing? Where is the PPE? Why doesn’t the Michigan governor supply these hospitals with the proper equipment?

People are getting restless about these lockdown/stay at home orders.

Some of this is people getting restless about being stuck at home, with no end to this in sight. Some of this also, could be reactions to the overreach of some local officials, such as those who sought to ban drive in church services. Or this governor of Michigan, who is trying to ban the sale of so-called “non-essential” items at stores which are still open for business. There is a totalitarian streak being revealed which is not setting well with the American people.

PPE is Personal Protective Equipment. Those are items such as hospital masks and gowns and gloves, worn by hospital workers.

Personal Protection Equipment. Masks gloves, gowns ect. Hospital staff should be priority number 1 for those supplies.

Nurse working with actual dying covid patients is reusing the same equipment that should be disposable equipment.
