During an interview on SiriusXM’s “The Dean Obeidallah Show” on Thursday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) said the protest at the state capitol in Lansing, MI, on Wednesday was “a political protest.

Whitmer said, “Sadly, it was really a political protest–it was not necessarily about the policy. People said they would drive by and not get out of their cars and would practice the CDC safe— you know the guidelines. They congregated at the Capitol without masks standing close together. I saw an adult passing candy out to kids — bare hands to bare hands. These are people who came from all different parts of our state, congregated, and did all of the things we know put people in danger. And then they are going to go back to those rural parts of Michigan and possibly take COVID-19 with them. Or pick it up at a gas station as they filled up on way in or out of town. This is how COVID-19 spreads.”
She continued, “It was a definitely a political rally. I’ve not often seen a Confederate flag at the state capitol—and there were a few of them. There was someone who had signs that had a swastika on it. It was really a very political demonstration and rally. And It flies in the face of what we know we need to be doing to keep ourselves safe. They even lined up cars in front of a hospital and precluded an ambulance from being able to get in and out of the bay. You think about that clear image of them endangering other people.”
She added, “I think It’s very likely some of these people are going to get sick, and they are going to contribute to us having to continue in this stay home posture.”

First off Half-Whit, the Confederate flags were a symbol of rebellion. Second, genius, the swastika flags were a symbol of your fascism. Stop trying to conflate the two and set this up as a Klan rally.

IMHO, she has the potential to be a major leaker. I think she has more loyalty to her party and the fly-by media than she does to the US Constitution, BoR and national security. This woman has “other ideas” for our state and for the nation’s future and one thing is for sure, she can’t afford to be entirely honest about her overall agenda as a liberal democrat in a position of power, which she has already abused in so many ways. My slogan will be “Take the money, give her the boot” in November. That money is yours and you can keep it. You don’t have to “give back to the community” if you think you have better uses for it. You don’t even owe Gov. Whitmer a “thank-you” for anything but the opportunity for your children and perhaps yourselves to see what they will do given half a chance...and it’s not just her...Dana Nessel, Haley Stevens, Debbie Stabenow...They simply cannot afford to be honest. Please...think about that when you go to vote in November. This has been a public service announcment.
This is SOP for the left with regards to any protest against them....Rebel Flags, Swastikas and Guns.....aka white supremacists who deny science and kill people...

Both flags are inappropriate at protests; disgusting distractions that undermine and discredit the entire protest. Some things should be left home, left in a museum, or thrown away.
Yet, it is the most revered members of their party that either were clansmen or who constantly seem to be caught having worn blackface or clan robes.

She likely does not know the difference between a Confederate Flag and a Gadsden Flag.

One thing many will have noticed is that female politicians react first with emotion, not reason or analysis. Often they don't have any secondary reactions ie it's all emotion.
Whitmer is like Glenn Close at the end of Dangerous Liaisons in which the entire room is booing and hissing at her and she tries to walk out with dignity but shakes and stumbles.
PS - if the crisis were as dire as these governors are suggesting then they couldn't and wouldn't have time for 2-3 hrs of media per day.
