The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) today released a research brief detailing national figures for mail balloting failures, according to previous federal surveys.
Roughly 1 in 5 ballots never completed the mail voting process in the past decade.
“Putting the election in the hands of the United States Postal Service would be a catastrophe. Over the recent decade, there were 28 million missing and misdirected ballots,” PILF President and General Counsel J. Christian Adams said. “These represent 28 million opportunities for someone to cheat. Absentee ballot fraud is the most common; the most expensive to investigate; and can never be reversed after an election. The status quo was already bad for mail balloting. The proposed emergency fix is worse.”
The EAC defines “unknown” ballots as those that “were not returned by voter, spoiled, returned as undeliverable, or otherwise unable to be tracked by your office.”

The problem nobody wants to admit is that an awful lot of Americans are simply too lazy and/or stupid to cast votes correctly.

An article sometime back about the Democrats trying to register 40 million new voters and I’m sure many of those are dead people and illegal aliens.
I really do not think 28 million ballots were lost by the USPS itself. A few thousand, maybe, but I not even close to a million. I’ve voted by mail and such envelopes, especially several thousand, would be very obvious even to the most irresponsible person.
There must be some way the ballots otherwise become unaccountable once mailed that our dearest rat friends take advantage of. These are the ones with the motive, they’ve figured out the means and opportunity. Just because they are vile America haters does not mean they are all AOC grade stupid.
I’m retired Military living overseas and haven’t seen a ballot in years. So I don’t waste my time any more!

The Democrats know they can’t bus people around from state to state like the good ole Democrat days this year.

Millions of mail in ballots weren't returned in November 2019 in Los Angeles County, nor in June 2019.
I believe those two elections in California alone account for over half of the ‘gone missing’ ballots. I know the claim in my area from March was that over 75,000 ballots ‘had gone missing’ - Nahh, people got them and didn't return them.

Voting should be as follows:
- Registration 30 days in advance or more.
- Advance in person voting at the election office or specially designated secure polling place supervised by the board of elections. Advance voting no more than 14 days in advance of election day.
- Absentee mail in ballots requested by mail (or internet application) at least 30 days in advance of election day. A person who requests an absentee ballot will not be allowed to vote in person unless the absentee ballot is brought with them to a physical polling place.
- Voter ID required for in person voting. Signature required for absentee voting.
- “Harvesting of absentee ballots should be illegal. On person, one vote, one ballot.
Controls on the integrity of ballots does not disenfranchise any legitimate citizen voter. Voter ID is easy to obtain legitimately. Free transportation to the polls is easy to obtain. If you can’t get a friend or family member to take you political parties and many civic organizations have volunteers who take people to the polls. If a citizen cares enough to vote, that citizen will vote.

What does missing mean?
If someone requested an absentee ballot but does not complete and return it, does that count as missing? Given the low turnout in US elections compared with many other countries it would not surprise me if about 1/5 of the voters don’t bother returning their ballot.
