MAERSK offshore supply tug attacked in Gulf of Mexico Erofey Schkvarkin News April 15, 2020 1:51 pm
Offshore tug, supply ship MAERSK TRANSPORTER was attacked and boarded by armed pirates at night Apr 12 in Gulf of Mexico off Cuidad Del Carmen, Mexico, roughly in the same area where 3 days earlier Italian supply ship REMAS was attacked. Attack was carried out in same manner, too.

Offshore tug, supply ship MAERSK TRANSPORTER, IMO 9388649, GT 4678, built 2009, flag Denmark, manager MAERSK SUPPLY SERVICE AS.
Easily within range of air cover from Brownsville and Corpus Christie...
Wheres the Coast Guard?....Mexican Coast Guard probably master- minded the attack.
Why were they not armed? Who is running that circus ?
How far out does the Coast Guard go?
Now that we know this is a possibility we need to keep jets at McDill on alert
send them out to destroy the pirates
The Mexican Coast Guard! About twenty yeas ago I was on a dive boat one Sunday afternoon off Cozumel when we found a dead body floating in the water. We called the Mexican Coast Guard, but were told Go away, were closed. We had to catch the body in a canvas tarp and haul it to shore. It wasnt in a condition where we wanted to bring it on board.
Sounds like the beginning of an NCIS episode. :-(
Yesterday Iranian boats buzzed US Navy ships in international waters in Strait of Hormuz

Only 200 miles, it looks like :- /
The Coast Guard has law enforcement powers within U.S. waters, which extend 200 miles from shores, and on international waters. Coast Guard authority supersedes that of the U.S. Navy in terms of law enforcement — a Coast guard captain can halt, board and even seize any vessel without a warrant, court order or direct orders from a superior, including U.S. Navy vessels.

Dad was thinking with his little head perhaps?
Shipping hazard ping.
Operation Atalanta - Gulf of Mexico edition
Arrrgh, Mateys. The Pirates of the Carribbean be back to loot ships in harm’s way.
In my fantasies, I dream of an attempted piracy and the ship comes into harbor with the pirates swinging from the cargo hoists.
There’d be a bloody ruckus from the pearl-clutchers but it would send a message, as well as providing the warm and fuzzies to people who think like me.
Declare them hostis humani generis and act accordingly.
Thanks I did not know that. Good to know
In the moments of a pirate attack unless the CG is near by I say send some F15s from Tyndall AFB
There were an average of 16 pirate attacks each month off Mexico last year. Pirates attack offshore oil rigs, the ships that supply them, and cruise ships, as well as other vessels. No arrests were made.
This should be readily handled its our backyard
Kingsville NAS
Boca Chica
MacDill
Plenty bases close enough plus naval units
Dispatch the Navy from Key West to send them to Davey Jones' Locker!
