ALMATY (Reuters) - Kazakhstans foreign ministry summoned the Chinese ambassador on Tuesday to protest over an article saying the country was keen to become part of China, the ministry said.
In a statement the Kazakh ministry said the article titled Why Kazakhstan is eager to return to China and published on privately-owned Chinese website sohu.com runs counter to the spirit of permanent comprehensive strategic partnership officially declared between the two countries.

That's a profound disconnect and it has been there since at least 300 BC -- the Chinese saw "trade" as "tribute" to the Emperor and gifts given by him in return.
I don’t think China is particularly popular in Kazakhstan.
There were anti-Chinese pogroms, some as recent as this year.
When China decides for this to happen, it will, and nobody will stop it from happening.
Kazhakstan is the size of India, and has mineral resources and arable land.
It is smaller than Tibet which was absorbed into China and is now 25% of the Chinese area.
Lhasa, its capital, had 200-300 Chinese residents out of a population of 30,000 in 1950.
Today the Lhasa region has 900,000 residents, 2/3 of whom are Han Chinese.

I’m guessing Kazakhstan learned it’s lesson while part of the Soviet Union.
China is where Germany was in the 1930’s and was hungry for more resources and lands. Now that they are making strides in arming up and feel good that their test run with bio warfare has pushed even Americans into a hole they feel that they can begin their roll into the world very soon

I doubt the Kazaks are eager to turn their entire country into a concentration camp.
