Several protesters flocked to a park in Wisconsin demanding that Governor Tony Evans reopen dozens of open spaces which he closed amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Around two dozen people held a rally at Lapham Peak in Delafield in defiance of Evers directing the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to close 40 state parks, forests and recreational areas on April 9.
Evers decided to close the parks after thousands visited them when the state waived admission fees.
The governor said the decision was made out of an abundance of caution to help protect citizens from COVID-19, as well as the "unprecedented crowds, litter, vandalism" which were witnessed.
"I wanted to keep state parks open for the public to enjoy during this challenging time which is why outdoor activity is listed as an essential activity under the Safer at Home order," Evers said.
"Unfortunately, growing difficulty with ensuring social distancing compliance, dwindling cleaning supplies and mounting trash are some of the challenges faced by our state parks staff. We have to address the growing public health and safety concern and protect Wisconsinites."
On Tuesday, several demonstrators entered the park after walking past the barricades put in place and held signs demanding they be reopened to the public.
"These are my constitutional rights. I have a right. I'm just tired of what's going on," demonstrator Terri Bialas told WISN.
"This is insanity. It's gone way too far. We don't live in Nazi Germany."
Fellow protester Christine Bauman added: "There's no reason that this should be the way it is. It's an overreach by our governor, and this has got to stop.
"We have to start standing up for our constitutional rights. And the ability to go out here and hike is one of them."

We should close the Government out of an abundance of caution.
This is a growing movement.
The natives are getting restless and exercising their rights.
Just wait until they find out that their imperial governors have abrogated those rights.
The people start to fight back. Will the Dems call out their militia (antiFA)?
WISCONSIN voted for him. You get what you vote for.
The last time I drove through the Delaware Water Gap NRA on a summer weekend I was stunned at how filthy the place was. I was actually hoping a major forest fire would sweep through the area to sanitize it.
No it isn't Nazi Germany. If it was they would be waking up in a concentration camp somewhere.
We are days away from seeing truckloads of Depends being delivered to governors mansions in all 50 states.
Peoples patience has lasted 2 weeks longer than I originally thought it would
I see more and more people here out and about and trying to live normally, instead of hiding in the house waiting for the world to end
Well, I see your view. But for those who actually enjoy the parks, this might be a sensitive issue.
I felt it would last until the warmer weather hit.
Wait until it gets really hot and the people want to go to the pool or the local swimming hole. This wont end well.
Several protestors flocked?
Was it several or a flock?
Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs outlines 6-week reopening plan from coronavirus shutdown
[Knoxville TN area]
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs has unveiled his proposal to begin a phased reopening of businesses, parks and places of worship that have been closed to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
Jacobs sent a copy of his plan to Gov. Bill Lee outlining a plan to return most businesses to fully operational in six weeks, so long as there are no negative changes in COVID-19 hospitalizations.
Gov. Lees decision to extend the safer-at-home order was made taking statewide numbers into account, Jacobs said. Knox County is one of 95 Tennessee counties and as long as our community continues to make good and responsible choices, I believe we can, and should, start taking steps to reopen businesses.
The longer the economy is shut down, the more difficult its going to be to get it back on track.
People in Nazi Germany didn't live in Nazi Germany, until they did. We have many in the Deep State, Media and Demoncrat Party who are trying to turn this pandemic and the panic that is being created into a chance to kill what is left of our God-given freedoms.
they are the people’s places... paid for by tax payers monies... the govt can shut down employees that work there, but not the places to be visited...
open the gates.
this land IS OUR land.
BS...an abundance of power...
Worth repeating...
