President Donald Trump will make a number of key, vital announcements about reopening the U.S. economy in the next day or two, his top economic adviser said Tuesday.
In the next few days, he will be making some very important announcements regarding those (social-distancing) guidelines, National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow told Fox Business Network.
We want to get folks back to work, he added. We want to do it as quickly as possible. It has to be safe. It has to be driven by the data from our health specialists.
Kudlow, when later fielding questions by reporters in the White House driveway, reiterated his conviction that within a few days, Trump would announce the guidelines on reopening the economy.

Reopening the economy this week? Or, making comments this week about reopening the economy?
The President is in charge. No state is independent in this matter....especially New York who demanded assets much greater than the need.
Fauci is a snake.

If the President announced this week that the economy is re-opening next Monday, would you be willing to:
Go on a cruise?
See a movie in a crowded theater?
Get on an airplane?
Eat in a crowded restaurant?
Go to a hockey game in a packed arena?
Ride on a New York City subway?

"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember it or overthrow it." -- Abraham Lincoln, 4 April 1861

I would happily do all of those. Thank you.
The crisis is over. Let’s get back to work.
Exactly. Fauci is a rat saboteur. He heard what Kudlow said and rushed out there to put Trump in a box.
I need a haircut, is all I have to say. Why can’t they open up hair salons and barber shops with a limit of two customers at a time? That’s what my hair salon was wondering.
There is a wide spectrum between this economy killing shutdown and most things on your list. With a little effort and precautions most closed businesses could re-open.
Thanks for the quote; post.
Trump will be on the right side of this trap they are laying.
Tucker did a great job last night framing the argument for a return to normalcy, reminding his viewers that the social distancing measures were originally imposed to avoid an overload of the health system.
It worked, mission accomplished, with hospital beds and medical equipment now available for those that need them.
With safeguards remaining in place for those most likely to be impacted by the virus, the rest of the country needs to get back to work.
Fauci has been setting up the “just a couple more weeks” bit since last week. He will keep that up for as long as possible. The Rats know if they can just keep it shut down through May there is no chance the economy rebounds before November.
We learned today that the pet groomer is up and running. HOWEVER, no cats are welcome. And no people either, though I was tempted to try.
Yes to all. The article the other day said Iceland had tested 10% of their population and half had the virus and didn’t know it. I believe it is the same here, as traffic between here and China was heavy from the time the virus hit. Most people never know they had it. The genie is out of the bottle.
but his council has not had a chance to meet and deliberate yet.
I don’t chose to do any of those things in normal circumstances-it is why I live in a remote area around others who don’t like crowds/crowded venues-so it makes no difference to me whether people do those things or not-but out here we are tired of so many of our small businesses being idle and all of us short of money and work, just like everyone else-this shutdown needs to end...
