Well, a lot of assumption going on here, and we all know what that means.

No doubt though that fatality rate here is much lower than China’s.

there's plenty of anecdotal and statistical reason to believe the covid is widespread and has been widespread for some time....

people like me do not go to the doctor except for life threatening problems, so MOST people with mild virus symptoms will never be known.

..if they're not known, they're not counted...

This will eventually go down as possibly the biggest over reaction in the history of the world. Yes people died and this is sad, but most of them already had problems that would have taken them soon anyway. We did learn some things though. How quick were we to rule the elderly as not worth a ventilator. How quick were we to say that as bad as we made the risk out to be it was worth it to still keep on killing babies. I hope god will forgive us as a nation. He must be so disappointed in us. I for one am ashamed to be part of the human race based on our reaction. God forgive us, we know not what we do.

Leading German Virologist: ”No Transmission Of The Virus In Supermarkets, Restaurants Or Hairdressers Has Been Proved”
RTL Luxembourg ^ | 09.04.2020

Posted on 4/13/2020, 12:52:54 AM by Helicondelta

Mr Streeck is a professor for virology and the director of the Institute of virology and HIV Research at the University Bonn. He explained the methodology of his new study in Heinsberg, the “epicentre” of Germany’s COVID-19 outbreak, and talked about potential plans for a country to move forward gradually in getting back to a “normal” life.

These research findings have already provided some indication on how the virus works, as Streeck clarified:

“There is no significant risk of catching the disease when you go shopping. Severe outbreaks of the infection were always a result of people being closer together over a longer period of time, for example the après- ski parties in Ischgl, Austria.” He could also not find any evidence of ‘living’ viruses on surfaces. “When we took samples from door handles, phones or toilets it has not been possible to cultivate the virus in the laboratory on the basis of these swabs….”

Jury still out. Right now, US CFR is about 4.6%. Worldwide, about 6.2%.

It's nowhere near that because thousands have had the virus and didn't even know and/or went to a hospital and got tested.

I survived something that was so much worse than the flu,
and all I have to show for it is this jacket that says
“IT IS NOT THE FLU you Fxxxxxx Axx Hxxxs’.

Meanwhile massive unemployment figures, millions of
businesses on the ropes. Landlords across the nation
bleeding loans and other bills they can’t pay. Six point
whatever trillion new national debt. A market that lost
over a trillion dollars of capital on paper. Real estate
properties frozen in time. A twenty trillion dollar
economy stopped dead in it’s tracks, and Leftists out the
kazoo saying, “See, we told you that it was possible to
stop polluting the world with no down side.’
And all we get...

The Emily Latella response, “Oh! Nevermind.”

What can we obsess over next?

Whatever it is, when someone mentions the word
pandemic all I am going to have for them is a
massive glare.

A killer of whom? Old people and people that were already sick? I hate to sound cold but was that worth 8 trillion dollars and twenty million jobs?

If it saves just one Democrat's ass, it was worth it.

Anecdotal stories are not scientific evidence. I deal only with measurements and data, not conjecture and stories.

Likewise, there is no scientific basis for any claim that the death rate is lower than the actual death rate that is derived from the actual case numbers.

What? The death from the seasonal flu IS ALWAYS based on actual deaths and ESTIMATED CASES.

Tens of millions get the flu each year without going to a doctor or hospital and being counted as a confirmed case.

I wish I could understand the math. If you divide deaths by cases you get 6.2%. But, I divide deaths by cases reported 17 days ago (you don't die the day you report the disease, right?), and you get 18.8%. If you go back ten days, its 10.06%.

Too many unknowns. Deaths are probably being overreported as Covis, total cases are underreported. I like to play with numbers, I just don't think today's total deaths divided by todays total cases is accurate.

Looking for insights.

Any way you play it, it panicked the POTUS and his team.

And that was my interest. WHY did it panic the chief?

We all now know. A bio lab in China let a virus loose.

AND YET, the scum in the MSM will NOT report that.

There might end up being a war over this. Red China losing face and all that..the SOBs.
