Monday's WH Press Conference and Coronavirus update - scheduled to start at 5 pm eastern.
Even using % of population, this is still a huge and meaningless hype.
The number of confirmed cases is almost entirely dependent on how much testing has been done, and how subjects were selected for testing.
So far, subjects have been “self-selected”. In other words, they represent patients with symptoms sufficient to warrant a visit to a doctor or ER. Obviously, such a sampling is heavily biased toward those likely to test positive. Moreover, different countries have varying testing capabilities, and varying policies regarding who should get tested.
The more testing, the more confirmed positives. Period.
Without randomized and statistically controlled sampling of the population, we know ZERO regarding what % of the population might have been infected, and ZERO about how deadly the virus is.
That is the media for sure!

I’ve made several posts here warning that the MSM, etc. would use country-to-country comparisons to make the USA look bad, compared to smaller European countries. It wasn’t a difficult prediction to make. Per/people comparisons are the only valid comparisons.

There was an illustration, in yesterday’s (?) WSJ that showed all members of a household (even the dog) with ‘at home’ grooming looks.
Pretty much happening, all across the country, I suppose. I’ve tried grooming our dog, and the results weren’t pretty. :(
Fauci leaked that “report” to the NYT then they ambushed him with it. Then 3 days later the little shit tells CNN there are dead Americans because Trump didn’t follow his advice yet there is he is not even moved off the stage. Trump’s unwillingness to punish these people puzzles me.

Yep. People that are sick and see they have the classic symptoms of covid-19 will self-report and get tested.
We will never know about the ones that have it but have no symptoms and never get tested. No way to get a truly accurate count unless the government forces mandatory testing across the entire population.
However I still think the existing numbers are useful as they indicate how many people are sick enough with covid-19 to get tested.
Has anyone noticed the depressing “intro music” Fox plays with every CORONAVIRUS ALERT?
