Many including the defiant pastor, Rev. Jack Roberts arrived with their plates covered, with officers instead recording their VIN numbers, the paper said.
Even more desperate measures appeared to have been taken to keep the faithful away with piles of nails blocking each entrance, according to photos shared by the Courier Journal.
It was not clear who had left the nails, which were eventually cleared by church volunteers in time for the main arrivals, the paper said.
Kentucky State Police troopers then left large signs on every car left in the church lot, the paper said accusing those present of CREATING SCENES OF AN EMERGENCY.
They noted that everyone in the car owners household would be forced to quarantine for 14-days for defying the warning an order several worshippers told the Courier Journal that they planned to ignore.

It seems that cops everywhere are a bunch of fascist thugs with no regard to the constitution.
Just following orders.
We know where we heard that before.
Do they complain? Do they speak up? They are part of a deep state fraternity that covers each others' arses rather than do the right thing. I am now completely willing to take my chances with criminals and get rid of all law enforcement. At least with criminals I know what I am dealing with. Law enforcement officers are now criminals with the power of the state behind them. This is my stance until there is a major change in their attitudes towards the freedoms that they are suppose to protect and the people they are supposed to serve.

I read this and what comes to mind was the fellow in Colorado who armored a bulldozer...and destroyed half the town.

Here’s an idea. Let’ see how many of them get sick.

I suspect you are one of the busybodies that picked up the Fink on Your Neighbors App and you look out your window all day long looking for someone leaving the house without a mask so you can sic the cops on them.
We have some of those in our neighborhood. Are you one of them?

I’m sure the fine officers of the law will take a break from photoing plate numbers for a massive manhunt for the perpetrators.

Not all cops are bad, but a lot of them abuse their power. Big time.

My guns are not to protect me from common criminals.
My guns are to protect me from the police.

I think this was a drive-in service, broadcast over AM radio by the pastor to congregants in their cars, and was explicitly allowed by a federal judge.

The news report doesn’t say that. If it was, as I said earlier, I have no problem with it because people are still self-isolating.

"I dont know how the Kentucky State Police are equipped, but wouldnt it be more effective to use a tack strip"
I doubt the State Po threw those nails down, but still, I am kind of embarrassed for how much the younger generation around here has forgotten, or never learned. Road jacks (called caltrops in more civilized locales) would have been so much more effective. There was a day when everybody knew how to make them, and use them. They have a long history of usage out in the hills to enhance union bargaining positions during mining strikes. A box of nails, a vise and a pair of pliers and you can easily turn out a couple hundred in an afternoon.

You wrote, “Inside every cop is an authoritarian crying to get out.” It is well to recall that the Tsarist police en masse joined the Communist Party after Lenin took over.
To: conservative98
I wonder if someone had to cross a tape to get into the non-essential aisle just so they could buy up all those nails

Not all cops are bad, but a lot of them abuse their power. Big time. 99.99% will follow their marching orders, no matter what their personal convictions, because of.... PENSIONS.

This is incredible. Simply incredible. To hell with the governor of Kentucky. I don’t blame the LEOs... but surely they have better things to do.
