Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles and North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper may soon find out what it's like to become "resistance" heroes among President Trump's detractors and targets of his wrath.

The pair of Democratic officials will have considerable say about whether to cancel the Republican National Convention, set for Charlotte on Aug. 24-27, due to social distancing concerns amid the coronavirus pandemic. Doing so would be an unprecedented move, but potentially in-line with health guidelines they've been pushing at the municipal and statewide level.

NC answered the bell in 2016. So not sure why you are saying that. But if the ChiCom globalist Open Borders plague isn’t enough reason to move people to protect life and liberty, I’m not sure what will.

People I see are waking and some blaming the ChiComs for the ChiCom Virus. I always call it that. The few that whined about it in writing when I wrote it gave up. No one else even cares. They know it’s true.

I think that canceling the RNC, in a grossly political move, would be a huge boon to Republicans.

What they would lose is a very expensive rally with a foregone conclusion. President Trump is close to experiencing “overexposure”, anyway, so being forced off the stage, once, is not going to harm him in the least.

In exchange, there will be huge “negative press” against the Democrats far beyond the state. Since President Trump is a slam dunk for reelection, Republicans need to focus on House and Senate and state races to utterly pummel the Democrats at the federal, state and local level.

Well, Charlotte is a liberal hive and shutting out the convention will impact a lot of businesses.

Businesses that could use the money after this shut down.

Would be funny if the Gov did reject them and they make plans for another state that welcomes them.

Unfortunately too many Leftist Yankees have flooded in to go along with the Black population here that reflexively votes Democrat. The city government here didn’t really want to host the Republican Convention but since they’ve put forth the claim that they’re not lunatic partisans they could hardly refuse after Charlotte hosted the Democrat Convention in 2012.

The good news about Governor Roy Cooper is that the NC gubernatorial election is this year. I’ve been waiting to vote against this jackass ever since I moved back to NC.
