First I'd heard of it was today, else I would have posted it sooner.
Mel Brooks, always worth a chuckle...Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old farts life, it's worth it.
Dumb and unfunny PSA but amusing in that Max Brooks wrote the 2006 book World War Z, which is about a plague of Zombies spreading and taking over the world. Then a movie by the same name was made of it.
_____________
World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War is a 2006 zombie apocalyptic horror novel written by American author Max Brooks. The novel is a collection of individual accounts narrated by an agent of the United Nations Postwar Commission, following the devastating global conflict against the zombie plague. Other passages record a decade-long desperate struggle, as experienced by people of various nationalities. The personal accounts also describe the resulting social, political, religious, economic, and environmental changes.
Thanks for the ping. Nice PSA. We should have done it this way. Enable people who need to self-quarantine to do while allowing the rest of us to make our own choices.
Max’s “The Zombie Survival Guide” was pretty good.
The big question everyone should be asking is why didn't the great and powerful Fauci deem it necessary to lock down the nation the last three pandemics? We went about our business and the nation and the world built up a herd immunity in a matter of weeks not months and months crippling the economy and bankrupting individuals and businesses.
Mel is still alive???
That surprised me too!
I would hate to see Mel get Corona. Now, Carl Reiner...
Wow, those are Klipsch La Scala speakers in the corners of Dunhams house.
They run ~ $10,000 a pair and are not even the highest of the Klipsch line in cost.
You can get a clear, smooth 16 foot 20hz bass note out of those,
Pure perfection in speakers.
Surpassed by their Klipschorn line.
“Wow, those are Klipsch La Scala speakers in the corners of Dunhams house.”
The guy also owns not one but actual, honest to God, used in movies and TV shows, Batmobiles.
