Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said the White House Coronavirus Task Force is considering issuing certificates of immunity to Americans who have contracted and recovered from the Wuhan coronavirus.
He made it clear that testing for the virus and anti-body testing will be done on parallel tracks. This will allow health care workers to know who is actively fighting the virus versus who was asymptomatic.
"One does not essentially rule out the other," Fauci explained. "We still rely heavily and appropriately on the test to show that someone is, in fact, infected, whereas the anti-body test says that you were infected and if you're feeling well, you're very likely recovered."
The NIAID head said it's very likely that a large portion of the population has been infected and recovered but never knew they had the Wuhan coronavirus because they were asymptomatic.
According to Fauci, anti-body testing will be ramped up over the next week as President Donald Trump looks to reopen the economy and get Americans back to work.
"Can you imagine a time where Americans carry a certificate of immunity?" CNN's Alisyn Camerota asked.
"You know, that's possible," he said. “It’s one of those things that we talk about when we want to make sure that we know who the vulnerable people are and not. This is something that’s being discussed, I think it might actually have some merit under certain circumstances."
Other countries, like Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, have implemented immunity certifications, POLITICO reported.
As of Friday, the United States has 459,165 Wuhan coronavirus cases and 16,570 deaths.
Yellow armband?

2) Quarantine the infected.
3) USe prophylactic application of Hydroxychloriquine with Zinc vitamin to put the country back to work.

Over the past few days, I’ve been reading the major plans for what comes after social distancing. You can read them, too. There’s one from the right-leaning American Enterprise Institute, the left-leaning Center for American Progress, Harvard University’s Safra Center for Ethics, and Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Romer...
In different ways, all these plans say the same thing: Even if you can imagine the herculean political, social, and economic changes necessary to manage our way through this crisis effectively, there is no normal for the foreseeable future. Until there’s a vaccine, the US either needs economically ruinous levels of social distancing, a digital surveillance state of shocking size and scope, or a mass testing apparatus of even more shocking size and intrusiveness.
The AEI, CAP, and Harvard plans aren’t identical, but they’re similar. All of them feature a period of national lockdown — in which extreme social distancing is deployed to “flatten the curve” and health and testing capacity is surged to “raise the line.” That’s phase one. Phase two triggers after a set period (45 days for CAP, three months for Harvard) or, in the AEI plan, after 14 days of falling cases and a series of health supply markers...
The CAP and Harvard plans both foresee a digital pandemic surveillance state in which virtually every American downloads an app to their phone that geotracks their movements, so if they come into contact with anyone who later is found to have Covid-19, they can be alerted and a period of social quarantine can begin...

I would think that a tamper-resistant “COVID-19 Immune” card might not be a bad idea for discharging recovered patients.
I can see selling certificates of immunity on EBay already.
Certificates can be forged or lost. Tattoos would be permanent.

How about those entering a nursing home? Or an ICU of a hospital? Do we have to jump ugly on every possible comment by these people? Remember before yelling at me: The man you are going to vote for in November repeatedly states that he has great respect for them. And he does not throw out compliments easily.

Is covid-19 immunity a static binary function that doesn’t vary over time? If not then what good is a card in that case?
Oh I get it. Not only do you need a card but the card will need to have an expiration date and you would then need to be regularly re-certified.

320 million to go and we will be back.
No one knows how long the immunity will last...could be 6 months, a year, 3 years,...they won’t know until time passes.
If other countries start issuing certificates, they will be necessary for travel to those countries, like it or not.
