The Chinese Communist Party has underreported its CCP virus numbers, according to a recent report by Washington-based think tank American Enterprise Institute (AEI).
The report, released on April 7 and penned by resident scholar Derek Scissors, concluded that there should be an estimated 2.9 million confirmed cases of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus, in China, instead of less than 100,000 known cases currently reported by the Chinese regime.
The estimate was based on reviewing information in a Chinese state-run media report; an infection rate observed in South Korea, where data reporting is reliable; and assuming a conservative number of days during which the virus spread across China before Wuhan was placed under lockdown.
The escalating pandemic began in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province. Initially, the regime tried to hide the fact that a new form of pneumonia was spreading in Wuhan, by silencing eight doctors, among them ophthalmologist Li Wenliang, after they posted on Chinese social media about the disease.
Eventually, Wuhan authorities locked down the city on Jan. 23, but not before roughly 5 million peoplewithout being screened for the CCP virushad left the city to travel abroad or to another region of China for Lunar New Year festivities, according to the Wuhan mayor.
In the AEI report, Scissors scrutinized a Jan. 27 article by CGTN, the international arm of Chinas state-run broadcaster CCTV, exposing loopholes in the data.

You see the article stating how many cell phone accounts have disappeared?
Probably a truer count of loss!
I know Derek Scissors. Great guy. He used to invite me to jog with him, but I know it isn’t wise to run with Scissors.
(Blame it on lock down fever)
Scissors cut to the heart of it.
Either they’re lying about the numbers in China or they were very successful in sending their infected elsewhere.
Or both.
Well DUH... If China admitted millions of infections and did not tell everybody about this fast spreading human to human infecting virus, it would look HORRIBLE for China.
I've never met Derek, but we have been corresponding via e-mail for years--since his days at the Heritage Foundation. He is a first-rate economist, and his analysis of available data is superb.
China’s death estimate in “The Great Leap Forward” was about 45 million low.
You guys are so sharp tonight!
The only way the Chinese death rate could be this low is that the population outside of Whuan were vaccinated before the virus was released.
I’m on edge waiting for a salient point.
Not only that but somehow after 5 million left the city, those clever Chinese managed to keep the outbreak contained in Hubei province and specifically Wuhan - the rest of China is free of it miraculously.
Deng’s China officially put the number of dead at the Tiananmen Square Massacre at around 2500. The other 8,000 don’t count, along with the wounded.
Hope so but.............You think the Chinese Communist Party cares that much?
Really think they disappeared in a cloud of smoke to ashes! jmho. :°[
