As Trump listens to the Kudlow faction and starts waltzing away from toxic economy killers Fauci-Birks.
Look for an earlier date than May First to reopen. I will bet on this. Idiot Fame-Ho Fauci is slowly being pushed aside but has very high trust ratings. So must be done slowly and deftly.
Please quitting Rooting for the virus! Please!
Take your hate And Go Away!
How did “I hope” become “insists”?
It was done using that advanced modern journalistic technique called "lying."
“insists”? what a hack this writer is.
I like his optimism, but the current 40:60 ratio of deaths to recoveries for resolved infections suggests that 184K out of the total 468K testing positive so far could die from their illness. Unfortunately, that 468K total infected number will likely increase for a while. As of yesterday, it was increasing by over 30K cases a day, despite fairly extensive lockdowns across the country.

What’s compelling about this ratio is that it is very close to the Italian ratio, which exists despite Italy’s far more limited resources relative to the US. Italy had to use triage, not just for ventilators, but doctors to look at the infected. Elderly patients over 65 were just given a bed and not examined, let alone treated. For them, the hospital was just a hospice where they were fed, watered and made comfortable until they either recovered or died.
With the likes of CNN, MSNBC, CBS and ABC all instilling fear into the public, a popular uprising to reopen the economy will never occur.
If Trump could just get Paul Krugman to predict it will be years before the United States can rejoin the first world...well, we would be back to December/January activity within 24 hours.
When red state governors reopen the others will look on jealously at renewed revenue streams. They won’t be able to help themselves.
Trump can use the National Defense Production Act on the holdouts.
100,000+ small business deaths
You are using an old ratio, but nice try anyway.
How about saying deaths from COVID-19 will be far less than the average flu season.
[You are using an old ratio, but nice try anyway.]
That is a more accurate way of saying it. The oncoming warmer weather will kill the virus even more.
That is a meaningless stat. How long does it take to be listed as a recovery?
“It is difficult to make predictions - especially about the future” - Yogi Berra
Deaths to recoveries is a meaningless stat. The only stat that matters is deaths and it has plateaued.
