Billy Saracino of Franklin Lakes believes a major dose of Hydroxychloriquine, the anti-malarial drug touted by President Trump in fighting coronavirus, may be what saved him.
His doctor Robert Bock agrees, and says he's had incredible success in using Hydroxychloriquine to treat his other patients.
However, Bock recognizes that the drug comes with a host of side effects that can be fatal if not for proper administration and supervision.
A dosage of Hydroxychloriquine as soon as a patient's condition worsens, and co-presence of the antibiotic Zithromax are also key in the drug's success, according to Bock.
In Saracino's case, they were all there.
"Hydroxychloriquine is a reasonably well-tolerated drug," said Bock, who has a family practice out of Wayne and is also affiliated with the Atlantic Health System.

However primary care physicians cannot prescribe hydroxychloroquine in a timely manner in NJ due to the impediments placed on proscriptions by Governor Murphy. Clinically the drug does the most good in the earliest stages when all that is present is fever and cough. If you have to wait until you have shortness of breath or actual pneumonia the drug may not work as well or at all. The problem in NJ and NY is that the physician must have a “confirmatory test” before the pharmacist will dispense. Confirmatory tests are not readily available and many take an agonizing long time to report results.
First: Trump is no biological research expert, so somebody had to convince him that Hydroxychloroquine would be an effective treatment for Coronavirus and I credit Trump for listening. But I wonder, who was that?
Second: How many lives would have been saved if the MSM hadn't had their knee-jerk reaction to oppose anything Trump proposed?

Didnt I read that Elon Musk brought it to Trumps attention?
Notice, while acknowledging the drug saved, there is also a caveat that it comes with a host of “risks”.
This claim is in complete and utter contrast to doctors who have been administering HCQ for DECADES. 65 YEARS.
Preeminent among them is Dr. Daniels. A Rheumatologist with 42 years of experience treating Lupus patients whose practice exceeds 2000 patients who penned a letter to the FDA refuting all of the it’s “unproven”, “dangerous” BS being touted by the MSM.
The Dr. stated in his letter to the FDA that in his 42 YEARS of prescribing HCQ he has never had one patient experiencing any of the side effects claimed by the MSM or their TV Dr.’s.
He stated to the FDA that at worst there was the occasional rash or a bit of stomach upset during the initial application of the drug.
No recorded “heart problems” ever. He further states to the FDA that there is no protocol whatsoever for cardiac testing prior to giving the drug to any Rheumatoid patients.
The entire HCQ issue has been politicized by the dems/MSM simply because of Liberal TDS. Trump touted it as a game-changer, therefore, HCQ is EVIL and DANGEROUS.
a LOT of people are saying that now- Even Dr Seigle’s (Sp? Doc on fox news) father was saved by the drug, and he is 93-question is- Why are so many people still dying from the virus in NY?
May the psychopathic governor Murphy get the coronavirus and his doctor won’t prescript Hydroxy** until he has had a confirmatory test, weeks later. This bastard deserves to die a long, painful death.
[[Confirmatory tests are not readily available and many take an agonizing long time to report results.]]
Requiring that is outright negligent homicide- Denying someone the right to life saving drugs which are proven safe and very effective- because a test result isnt back yet, during an epidemic, amounts to negligent homicide, and I’m surprised lawyers aren’t jumping all over this
Sorry, I don’t know if that’s a joke or not since I don’t know how Elon Musk would know either.
It’s not a joke.
So what does Elon Musk know about it?
Elon quickly jumped on the bandwagon after reading it online.
exactly- when it’s too late- cuomo is guilty of needlessly causing people to succumb to this virus who could ave been saved had they gotten the treatment Early through their doctor Outside of the hospital setting-
Elon Musk is a multi-billionaire, employing a large number of engineers and scientists. He has a space company, an auto company, and a civil-engineering company. Tesla is making ventilators — so that’s a toe in the medical-equipment industry. Given all of that, I can easily imagine Musk having better sources of information, about just about any subject than any of us.
I’m not saying he would be right — just trying to answer your question.
The state legislator in Michigan had to have her husband drive out of state to get the prescription her doctor gave her because her dumb ass governor banned the use of it and the pharmacy in Michigan could not fill it!! The drugs saved her life two days later her dumb ass governor removed the ban!! I think her husband needs to scream this far and wide!!! This legislator is a Dem and VERY thankful to Trump for saving her life!!
Like him or not Musk is a pretty sharp guy.
The French doctor (Raoult) that released his “anecdotal” clinical results of the HCQ + Zithromycin regimen’s success several weeks ago is probably the original source. The graphs in his report showed stunning results, even if the number of patients was small.
Someone gave the doctor a platform to speak/publish, someone heard/read it and told Trump. The doctor, who seems a bit of a renegade (for example he expressed deep disdain for Parisian medical society) didn’t get the memo that things were supposed to remain complicated and drawn out (no money in simplicity). I’m sure people like Fauci are damning him under their breath. Dr. Raoult let the cat out of the bag.
It works best when administered early, Cuomo has decreed that it’s only to be used when it is more likely to fail, after the patient is already critical solely for political reasons.
It’s really sick.
