That’s a good one too. Actually I heard this one before the original, but now I am slightly more inclined to the original. I grew up near East St. Louis before it went completely to hell in a handbasket, and I have always been intrigued by its gritty and rough-and-tumble history. Ellington’s version sounds to me like ESL must have been in 1927.
