It’s a long-standing custom. It serves a social need. A better use of his time would be to push for the replacement of round door knobs with handles. You can push against a handle with your arm. You can more easily open a door when you are carrying packages. You don’t have to squeeze billions of other peoples’ germs. Arthritic hands have an easier time.

This hand shaking business is going to further divide America. I have long been of the mindset that there are two types of people. Those that are afraid and don’t take risks and those that are not afraid and take risks. Our society, government and laws have been driven by fear. You hear of these stories where a parents are reported to authorities for letting their children go to the playground by themselves, or you see parents camped out at school bus stops worried that their children will be abducted. There’s fear of global warming. There’s fear of terrorists. There is fear of words among the PC crowd. And there is the fear of truth. The list goes on. The consequence is more government, more laws and less freedom. The real bottom line is too many people are no longer willing to live full lives. Besides an occasional germophobe who is otherwise completely normal, you will immediately be able to recognize the people who want to steal your freedom because of their fear. They won’t shake your hand.

I agree! Trump needs to open this country back up. His first timeline was the correct one: Easter.
