On Tuesday President Trumps press secretary Stephanie Grisham left her post and will be replaced by campaign spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany.
McEnany will work in tandem with two others newly tapped by for the Trump administrations communications team: Alyssa Farah as White House director of strategic communications and Ben Williamson as senior adviser for communications. Meanwhile, Grisham will return to first lady Melania Trumps team as chief of staff and spokeswoman.
Heres what to know about McEnany, now tasked with facing off with media on behalf of the administration and guiding a very blunt president who often prefers to go it alone with the press.
McEnany is the first major personnel move by new White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, who assumed the role one week ago after Trump announced he would replace Mick Mulvaney.
McEnanys predecessor, Grisham, received criticism by the media for never hosting a press briefing in her nine months in the position. Grisham made an occasional appearance on Fox News and often defended her boss on Twitter. McEnany, however, is poised to go head-to-head on camera, given her time as a paid contributor on CNN and her more than 200 appearances on Fox News weekday programming since August 2017, according to a count by MMFA.
McEnany will be the presidents fourth press secretary, behind Grisham, Sarah Sanders and Sean Spicer.
McEnany, 31 and a graduate of Harvard Law School, was named national press secretary for President Trumps reelection campaign in February 2019.
An avid defender of the president, McEnany made a name for herself as a conservative pundit on CNN, before being appointed national spokesperson for the Republican National Committee in 2017 and then moving to the Trump campaign.
In 2018, McEnany published a book titled The New American Revolution: The Making of a Populist Movement.

Yeah right
Not guilty!! Innocent!!!
Bring her to my chambers though.
I need to go over her some briefs before I bring the gavel down.
Those are some of the worst puns I’ve ever used :)
The question isn’t who is Kayleigh McEnany the question is why is she, or anyone, Press Secretary? Why does Trump continue to have a position that basically doesn’t do anything press related?
Other than she’s pretty damned cute
The left wing media is going to take jabs and gut punches
from a Hawt street fighter. Jim A. is going to wind up with whiplash. She is way smarter than they are and being
beat up by such a dollface will make them all the more angry. You don’t expect a Tiger in Sheeps clothing.
One thing, she isn’t afraid to mix it up.
If she actually talks to them. Did Grisham actually ever talk to the press during her entire time there? I don't think she ever conducted a single briefing during her entire tenure, and if McEnany follows that same path then when will she jab or gut punch anyone? Besides, Trump does a better job of that than anyone so why waste money on a Press Office?
One thing, she isnt afraid to mix it up.
I will believe that when I see it.
YES!! She is FEARLESS!!
Good grief....we are going into CAMPAIGN mode......and just because YOU haven’t seen her be tough, we have, and she is!
why?
Many women use a professional name.
Mary Maitlin.
Me.
So are you saying that she is a better person to speak on Trump's priorities during the campaign that Trump himself? Or if this is because he's in 'campaign mode' then why not leave her with the campaign to fight from here.
When it comes to recent press secretaries in the Trump administration the best description is that old joke about the vice presidency. Two sisters, one became White House Press Secretary and one went to sea. Neither was ever hear from again.
He’ll be on the CAMPAIGN TRAIL doing Rallies!!! HELLO!!
I liked yesterdays briefing, Trump said what he wanted took
some questions and then left the room and turned the rest
of the program to VP Pence who heads the task force.
Why should the President always be lowering the office he holds to deal with the hostile Democrat press who will never tell the truth, give him credit for his hundreds of accomplishments, and then say he is a racist and not Presidential.
Yes, DJT is his own best spokesman but he has limited time
and if you noticed many of these briefings are after 8 pm
I want our president to get some time off, the stress of his pace and job would have worn down anyone else.
Pence can take questions from these boobs.
And she'll be doing what exactly?
Oh and I'll make a prediction. Regardless of how under control the Covid-19 pandemic is by the fall, regardless of whether they have a vaccine or not, or have a course of treatment or not, Trump will not be able to hold a single rally without the media shaking their heads and talking about how he's running the risk of reigniting the pandemic again. Mark my words.
Because he loves it. If he didn't he wouldn't do it.
Yes, DJT is his own best spokesman but he has limited time and if you noticed many of these briefings are after 8 pm
They all start between 4 and 5 PM my time, which is between 5 and 6 in DC.
She has the heart and courage of a lioness. I have seen her alone on many panels with liberals. She rips them to shreds.
Not true, I watch Lou Dobbs program at 7pm and often they
break into the daily briefing when it starts after 7:30pm.
Why don’t you know that? Why do you argue such mundane points. The point is his briefing are after he has been
working more than 12 hour days and they last mostly over
90 minutes.
Corona virus changed our lives and the world of political campaigns. No more mass rallies, hand shaking and baby kissing. Her role in that world, that she was very good at,is gone.
She is too valuable to just sit on the bench even if she only gets into the game to pinch hit.
Because I've been working from home for over a month and generally have the TV on in the background. And like clockwork the daily briefing has begun between 4 PM and 5 PM Central time, usually between 4:30 and 5. That's how I know that.
Why do you argue such mundane points.
To correct incorrect statements.
Then why waste her in the do-nothing role of Presidential Press Secretary?
