Ordered by the state, SF nursing home prepares to accept coronavirus patients
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | April 8, 2020 | Trisha Thadani

At least one San Francisco nursing home, the Campus for Jewish Living, could begin accepting patients infected with the new coronavirus who no longer need to be in a hospital — but are either in recovery or need hospice care, according to a letter obtained by The Chronicle.

The 378-bed nursing home in the Excelsior has prepared its own wing where it can accept COVID-19 patients, said Marcus Young, a spokesman for the nursing home. The patients would be isolated from the rest of the facility — which does not have any COVID-19 cases of its own — and staff members would only be allowed to tend to those in the special unit.

“We recognize that these mandates may cause some concerns, but please be assured that the safety of our residents, patients and staff remains our top priority,” an April 2 letter sent to residents and their family members said.

The preparations at the Campus for Jewish Living come after the California Department of Public Health issued an order last week that skilled nursing facilities must allow COVID-19 patients — unless the facility cannot provide the proper isolation and personal protective equipment for front-line workers. The point is to free up hospitals from patients who do not need to be in an acute setting, but still need isolation and care.

This sounds insane. I thought the whole point of the isolation mandates was to protect the "most vulnerable" populations - including the elderly. But California bureaucrats are MANDATING elderly care homes to take COVID-19 patients?

“Cramming infected patients into crowded, understaffed facilities with extraordinarily vulnerable residents is a recipe for disaster,” Patricia McGinnis, executive director for California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, said in a statement last week.

Actually it could relieve the mystery of when mom might pass on. Just go see her with a loaded 38 and viola! Oh, and an open bed. /s

I wonder how many of these so called “recovered” are homeless people.

This is consistent with my suspicion that they want to increase the disease, hoping to have an effect on the election.

Trying to process this.

So, the state orders the release of prisoners to protect them from catching the virus, but inflicts them on the community at large. It does this, because it would be inhumane to keep the prisoners, who by and large have transgressed against society, in a crowded, infection prone facility.

Then, the same state takes COVID infected patients, some of whom will be infectious, and injects them into nursing homes, where elderly vulnerable patients are trapped by their ill health?

That seems incredibly messed up.

Re: “This is consistent with my suspicion that they want to increase the disease”

It is also consistent with inflating the death toll.

No matter what co-mortality diseases these people have, the death certificate will only say “COVID-19.”

What could go wrong?

I wonder whether SF did this because they hate real religions and especially hate Jews, or did they do this just because democrats are shockingly stupid?

It was real easy to keep COVID off the hospital ship in New York Harbor. How hard can it be to keep it out of a nursing home?

Apparently it’s a statewide order and many nursing homes will have to comply.

Excellent synopsis. I hadn’t even thought about the obvious logical connection to the order emptying prisons.

“Incredibly messed up” is the understatement of the day.

You are uninfected and want to visit Mom in the nursing home? Nope, no visitors allowed.

You are a “recovered” COVID case? Oh, well, come right on it! Welcome to the nursing home!!

How many times have we read of “recovered” people suddenly falling ill again?

California is so, SO Effed Up.

For sure. The Dems inflate deaths just like they do with votes.

Either they are reporting false numbers or they are infecting large groups of people on purpose. There are not even that many PEOPLE in Detroit anymore, are there?
