WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) With Easter Sunday just three days away, some area pastors are asking whether drive-in services are allowed under Governor Roy Coopers Executive Orders and local Declarations.
These Orders and Declarations prohibit any event or convening that brings together more than ten individuals in one place (indoor or outdoor) at one time.
Wilmington Police say this prohibition includes drive-in services.
We thank churches and all houses of worship for doing their part in slowing the spread of COVID-19 and believe that their participation is critical in our community-wide success, said Daniel Thurston, City of Wilmington Police Attorney. We strongly urge all churches and houses of worship to continue with virtual services, including for Easter.
Health Department officials believe that the spread of the virus is at a critical stage.

Homeless, illegals and minorities exempted.
Don't ask. Just do it. The congregation can choose to come or not.
That’s just what I was thinking. Don’t ask for permission. Just do it.
Drive through Micky D is OK.
Church fly-by?
Nope.
.
Someone should let CALI know since I saw some suggestion that would happen out there. We already know solo paddle boarding in the ocean will get you arrested and parking at the beach will get you a $200.00 ticket. WTH people? Really. Could get ugly before it’s over.
Agreed. Do it and dare these fascists to disrupt an Easter service. If parked and maintaining distance they have no way to come out looking good in this situation.
And the Church of Moloch is exempt.
Overwhelm the system.
With people staying in their cars, I don’t see how this is a problem. Cars inherently isolate. More than anything I have seen, this makes me question the intent of the stay home orders.
If everyone stays in their car, and the cars are parked at least 6 ft away from one another, what is the problem?
“what is the problem?”
The worship of Jesus?
3 days away? No.
But liquor stores and abortionaries are all good.
No, this is the governor who also wants to keep black Kids in failing schools. He opposes school vouchers.
You can bet his stay at home orders have more to do with religion’s most important observance of the year than with a virus.
Civil disobedience should be the order of the day on Easter Sunday. And every other day where the restrictive orders are unconstitutional and unreasonable and improper.
It will bring a mark of everlasting infamy on the present generation enlightened as it is if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of designing men.

OK, I would like to see their medical and scientific studies that support this completely inane statement. Is this telling me that the virus has a consciousness and is aware when more than 10 people are gathered and is given the green light to infect?? Especially outside. Or the virus just inherently knows someone that is 5 feet apart from another as opposed to six feet apart?? If they are afraid of a few people in one spot and 10 feet or so away there are a few other people (in their cars mind you), that the virus is going to flourish....well then they are basically telling you that this virus floats on the air and is carried in the wind for quite a distance. And then can get into the car. They are making this stuff up as it goes along.
Just got back from the trip to the grocery store. Parking lot pretty full. That’s ok but people sitting in their cars in the church’s parking lot isn’t?
Cooper is evil.
