The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Israel rose to 9,248 on Tuesday, the Health Ministry reported. The death toll from the virus rose to 65.
149 patients are hospitalized in serious condition and 117 are on ventilators. 770 patients have recovered from the virus.
Led by Health Minister Yaakov Litzman, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense tonight (Tuesday) signed an agreement with the company BGI to provide equipment and materials to carry out at least 10,000 more coronavirus tests a day.
The devices will be placed in 6 laboratories of the health funds over the next few weeks and will be added to the lab activities that already exist in the health system.
Earlier, the Director General of the Ministry of Health signed a public health order - regarding the obligation to wear a mask, whereby a person may not leave his place of residence without a facial mask which covers the nose and mouth. The ministry stated that wearing masks greatly reduces the risk of infection.
The instructions to wear a mask shall not apply to a minor under the age of 6...

Why is it BS? Israel did the opposite of us, they kept the elderly and compromised in and let others mingle.

Best of luck, but this looks more like a sign that most of those that will die are in that early part of the curve.
They should have the best of care though, so maybe they’ll do better.
America's 329.6MM population is 36x that of Israel's 9.1MM.
If you gross up the fatality figures, you get 933, 1,292, 1,436, 1,580, 1,759, and 2,046. Grossing up the 9,248 cases by 36x gets you 332,928.
Still way lower than the US totals.

Everybody’s locked down. Only eight at a time in the grocery stores, with mask and gloves on. In the streets, boys on scooters and skateboards are wearing masks. They’re trying to keep people from burning their last bits of leavened bread today. Police demand to know your business if you enter Jerusalem, or any other municipality, including my own Neveh Daniel, the Mayberry of the Middle East. Arab workers, including my own cleaning help for Passover, cannot enter at all, which sucks for everyone regardless of race or creed. No regular bus service anymore. Restaurants will only deliver. Perhaps you visited at the start of this “pandemic,” when rules were more lax. They have now moved the needle and we are in kookoo-land.
