Sounds like the crew are a bunch of millennials, God save us.
Whether the captain was or wasn’t either of those things, it’s just wrong for Sec. Nav. to tell that to the crew. This guy should be fired yesterday.
It seems like a lot of people in positions of great responsibility are getting overwrought and acting unprofessionally.
Why is the Def Sec and the Navy Sec scrambling around - covering their asses - and throwing dirt on that Captain?
There’s something rotten (as usual) in the Pentagon. I think THEY effed up and left that crew to suck it regarding COVID 19.
Was the “leak” from the Navy Secretary himself?
Former Acting SECNAV is not a very grand title.
This has left a huge hole in our defense and transmitted valuable information regarding our posture, readiness and capabilities to China, our enemy.
Reminded of a song line:
“Everybody talkin’ but they just don’t know.”
I have the utmost respect towards any Naval captain, especially ones who command Air craft carriers and Comanders of Submarines and groups like COMSUBGRU9 or CINCLANTFLT. However this Captain exhibited an extreme lapse in judgement. He should have known better not to stir the pot and dip his toes into out of bounds territory of the chain of command and the UCMJ. If he were a submarine captain he would never again command a boat. Possibly demoted to XO or WEPS or less. I feel sorry for him though, for his outspoken display of concern for his crew. He seems to be quite charismatic and I would have been honored to have him as my Captain.
